American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I checked mine last night it was down to 1.010 already (day 5). Mine is definitely light in color as of right now. So your dry hopping in secondary right? Anyone ever dry hop in a keg? And what was your results. I was thinking of letting mine go for a bit, cold crashing, and then dry hopping...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Well my first all grain batch was funny and very educational. I didn't have too good of an efficiency (63%) I think it was due to poor mash temps. But I learned a lot and can't wait to try again. Due too the poor efficiency I only got a OG of 1.060. But I pitched the Pacman and well see how...

    Keg question

Look up the Bowie Bottler on this site. If you have a Perlick Faucet it's the best way to bottle. Basically it a SS piece that pushes right into your Perlick. Easy to use and fast. Just another option. Sorry I haven't had my coffee yet and I couldn't stand the grammatical errors so I had to repost.

    WLP007 Cottage Cheese Starter

I shook the carboy up before I pitched the last of the yeast last night. When I checked it this morning I didn't see any visible signs if fermenting but I will take a gravity reading when I get home. Any idea why it would stop early?

    WLP007 Cottage Cheese Starter

Has anyone had any problems with a stuck fermentation using WLP007? I brewed a Winter Warmer ale that had a high OG of 1.072. After two weeks in the primary it was only down to 1.044 I pitch two vials (without using a starter) because of the high OG. the FG was supposed to be 1.018. Last...

    Starter question

Awesome thanks!!! I think I will make up some more DME to make sure the yeast is active then throw it in. "Dormant yeast jump right back into party mode in the presence of sweet wort (don't you?)" might be using this quote again!!! Hilarious.

    Starter question

"You got fermentation of your starter so you should now have plenty of yeast. There are still a lot who say they never make starters and only pitch one vial/pack and get good beer so you are good no matter what." I am using a starter, thanks for the info about the airlock. Sounds like I got...

    Starter question

I have a starter question, I just did my first one about 14 hours ago. Boiled water, added DME, cooled in the flask, then added the yeast, and topped with an airlock (per the directions that were given to me). About 30 minutes after being placed on my stir plate I got airlock activity. Then when...

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

I have a totally noob question. I know there are many variables that would come into play here. I don't know if due to those variables someone can even answer this question. If not please just use you person experience here. Using the set it and forget it method, about how many 5 gallon Kegs...

    Cold Crashing... How too..

Awesome thank you this is what I was looking for...just to clear something else up though. A secondary is only useful if you want a clearer beer right? Is there any advantage to getting the beer off the yeast? What I mean is after a few weeks in a primary are you running a risk of getting some...

    Cold Crashing... How too..

I have a quick question, I just finished my first batch (extract). It's been in the primary for a few days now, after a full week I was thinking about moving it to a secondary and leaving for 2 more weeks. Then cold crashing. But is the secondary necessary if I'm am going to cold crash? Or...
