    RO water and salt additions

I've always treated both Mash and boil. Watch your sparge water PH, I usually have to hit mine with a little bit of lactic acid to get it down to an acceptable range.

Eh....not sure what the volume is. I set my keg at 12ish PSI for 3-4 days and it tastes right.

    Imperial Stout primary to bottle

I have brewed the BYO clone recipe many times as published as well as with modifications. If you pitch a proper amount of yeast you will reach FG in less then two weeks. I have kegged in as little as 16 days and received 40+ scores. A "secondary" is absolutely unnecessary. My usual is 3...

    Fermentation Temp Questions

With a fan and some wet towels you can get that 71 down into the 60s. Use the same recipe just substitute the lager yeast with a clean fermenting ale yeast. The result will be much tastier then fermenting at the wrong temp.

I would say either option isn't good...maybe brew an ale instead?

Draft Top can opener...what do you think?

I don't "need" 90% of the things I own. I'm sure it cost less then $45 to make...but that's the idea, they take the risk of entrepreneurship to turn a profit. I wouldn't call that greedy. I think it would be a cool novelty for parties and gatherings. I've seen people spend a lot more for a...

How long will a starter be good for?

I have a plate and have been building the starter up all week which is why I don't want to lose all that work! Right now it is in the flask in the refrigerator with foil covering the opening. I guess my plan will be to leave it as is until next Friday when I'll warm it up and hit it with some...

How long will a starter be good for?

So I was going to brew a lager today and I have a huge yeast starter waiting in the fridge to decant. Some things came up and it looks like I may have to wait to brew til next week. Will the starter still be good next week if I leave it in the fridge??

    NHC Ticket

I am accepting all offers! I've already got 1 for free local beer and 1 trade offer for somebody's wife. I would prefer real money, original cost was over $250 I think

    Stone Go To IPA

Greg Koch could piss in a bottle and it would be perceived by the masses as cutting edge beer...A majority of Stone's beers are exceptional but not all deserve the 99 ratings! I think they are a bit inflated. Respect to Stone but there are Many great breweries out there!
