    What I did for beer today

    went to go pick up my LHBS order. You order online and can either pick up in store of free, or at one of 6-7 local breweries (also for free) if you don't want to pay for shipping. 1lb of amber dme for <3.50 CAD after sale price, and club discount.

    Stuck stopper, help!

    Similar in principle to that plastic bag trick. You stuff one end of a tea towel in then roll the carbou to get the stopper resting on the towel then you pull it out.

    I decided to give it a chance, and hope the solventy aroma was from over aerating. So I decanted and dumped 200 ml on my wild yeast, and it smells much better right now. Half inch of creamy frothy krausen, and the layer of settled yeast I had before decanting looked like nice creamy healthy yeast.
