Critique my IPA! First recipe ever. Add some dextrose or leave it?

:D That's my dilemma! I think I'll let it go like that... I usually mash at 150-152F and even without dextrose, my beers usually end up a bit too low in body and "solvent-y" and from what I saw from the auto-siphon, it looks almost corona-esque in color. Thanks for the input guys, I'll report...

Critique my IPA! First recipe ever. Add some dextrose or leave it?

So after making a Pliny clone that was a huge success, I wanted to make something a bit less alcoholic and bitter. Unfortunately, I forgot to throw in the 0.75lb of dextrose during the last minutes of the boil. Do you guys think I should add it now or should I wait and see what my FG will be...

Need advice for a Sanke fermenter

Did it for my last batch, a 6 gal Pliny the Elder clone, used a #11 plug with great success. Clean thoroughly (which is the difficult thing with Sankes) with Oxyclean or PBW, rinse, sanitize and you're good to go. Got quite a bit less than I planned (15L rather than around 19L), probably due to...

    How close is your (L)HBS

I'm lucky it's about 5 minutes. And have better prices than online - even on hops! I try to buy everything I can from them and rarely order online except for very specific items - it's moût international for montrealers.

    Who is your brewing partner?

The fiancé actually scolds me when I start before she can do anything. :D Usually her and another friend of mine - but a lot of people wants to come watch the process, relax and have a homebrew... :D

    Cost Analysis

I started brewing a few months ago because I was fed up with buying my scotch ale at the liquor store (nationalized...!) for around 2.75$ a 354ml bottle. Figured I'd just make my own to cut costs. While it costs considerably less (around 0.44$CAD per 500ml bottle for a big beer, lot less for a...

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

Thanks to the OP! Ah how I love HBT. :D I just bought a new fridge (Black & Decker BFEQ50 that also had a very easy to access screw) that I traded (actually sold it!) for a bigger, older and free Polaris. Found a small screw on the thermostat that I screwed all the way to the right... Seems...

    Another new guy!

Hi everybody! Started brewing a few months ago, figured it was the time to unlock the mysteries of yeast, malt and hops which always intrigued me, even though beer drinking was a vague and distant interest! So far it's been a fascinating venture. Started with a Cooper kit in April, which was a...
