Looking to brew my first IPA using malt extract. Tips on good extracts and priming tips?

I had years in the Lawrence Brewers Guild, some of the best times of my life. There were some extraordinary brewers in the Guild. Make sure you are not vitamin D deficient, keep zinc supplements on hand, and if you feel sick at all, act immediately.

    What are you drinking now?

It's good. My wife ran across it, it was on sale because it was expiring. $3 a 16 ounce 4 pack.

Looking to brew my first IPA using malt extract. Tips on good extracts and priming tips?

Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew. A phrase coined by Charlie Papazian in The Complete Joy of Homebrewing. It neatly sums up how to approach home brewing as a beginner. Home brewing texts, web pages, kit instructions should all be taken with a grain of salt. Beer is tougher than you think...

Looking to brew my first IPA using malt extract. Tips on good extracts and priming tips?

If you read the extract brewing threads here you find that most recommend using RO water for extract brewing. The extract has the salts and minerals from the extraction process and tap water has its own salts and minerals and can be too much for your beer. I hope when people are saying to add...

    Software for extract brewing?

My thread is pretty dead. I went back and read this whole thread and while I was not the OP I think my posts were in the spirit of the thread.

    Software for extract brewing?

Whoops, I thought this was the thread I started. I hope I did not hijack this thread, it was not my intention.

    Software for extract brewing?

I am using RO water. I was wondering if it would be worth my time to get a profile of my RO water. It is an under-sink system.

    Non-Alcoholic Beer

Thank you tahoehomebrewer I was wondering about using maltodextrin for the body. I am an extract brewer so it should be easier for me to avoid some of the traps you pointed out. The article said Athletic Brewing has a proprietary process. I guess it's not heat. I am thinking about making a hop...

    Software for extract brewing?

Yeah. I appreciate the formulas but, I entered the ingredients from a couple of kits I bought and got nearly the same results as they expected. For less than $30 a year it is no contest for me. I can change the batch size and have the results almost instantly and not worry that I dropped a digit.
