    Question of the Day

We just brewed our first 10 gal AG. We split the batch into (2) primaries. One in an 8-gal plastic bucket and the other in a 6 gal. plastic bucket. About midweek we had significant blow-off in the 6 gal. and essentially its now done fermenting. The 8-gal. primary is still bubbling away. So, I'm...

Those that work M-F, how do you get your CO2?

Both of the LHBS I use allow me to exchange. I bring in my 5 lb or 20 lb tanks, steel or aluminum empty and they will exchange them for full ones, for the same price as filling at airgas. They are open weekends usually. Might check at your LHBS.

    Advice to future home brewer

I say find yourself a buddy, friend, brother, someone who might share an interest in brewing. Learn it together, decide how big you want to go in, share the financial impact for start-up and get after it. That's what we did, although we jumped in pretty big, spent a bunch of money for kegerator...

Understanding Pressure and Lines on Kegs

I have 5' lines in my kegerator, and we frequently get foamy beer when dispensing. We typically have anywhere from 8-12 psi after forced Carb. From what I've read here and other places, some are saying its the temperature from the cold kegs at the the bottom of the kegerator going thru the line...

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

I'm a bit anal about the "clean" thing. Have broken only one (1) carboy shaking and rinsing. A carboy cleaner might allow me to (wipe), and save money on new carboys.

How to brew with Fresh pumpkin?

First, figure out what (pumpkin) taste you your looking for. Pumpkin itself is not great tasting. My neighbor made his first batch of pumpkin last year, he said it tasted a little squashy-like. We added a 32 oz can of Pumpkin Pie mix and 1 T. of pumpkin pie spice to the mash for our 5 gal...
