    Chocolate Covered Beavr Nutz

Hi emprbasist, this is a great brew and I am sure you will love it. To answer your question, no. I did not do anything other than open the package and toss it in there. Now you might want to inspect the package before adding to make sure there was no opening that might cause infection or...

    Chocolate Covered Beavr Nutz

I have been letting it sit in my keg for one week now. I'm probably going to continue aging it until mid December if I can keep my hands off of it that long. When I took it out of secondary to keg it I could smell the coco more than peanut butter.

Mine was also 5gallon I had to boil down I was at 7gallons starting. I agree that letting it set will help the flavour. I'm going to let mine sit in secondary for 14 days instead of 10. Then drop in my keg and Carb it for three weeks.

Just added my cacaco nibs. So in doing So I took a sample. Roasted malt coffee flavor were both strong. Peanut butter was really hidden. It had a somewhat peanut after taste. Hoping it will be better after some carbonation and the cacaco. I did not add the coco powder like you did.

    Chocolate Covered Beavr Nutz

I am fermenting the same brew now. I had a Very active primary fermentation and Just added the same peanut butter powder. I probably took it out of primary a little early but I'm cool with the results regardless. Anyway I gave a gentle mix of the p2b after I siphoned the beer in. I had some...

    Keg to bottle extended time

First, I have read several threads on the forum and watched a few videos on this topic. And from my keg I use the long food grade tubing to get the brew in to the bottle. The carb lasts for a while maybe 24 hours tops. For me that is normally OK. This batch is going with me on a road trip so I...

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

As odd as it sounds I looked at all but one store and didn't find a corona mill. I am thinking the local ATWOODS might have one but none of the stores I thought would carry them did. In any case the beer is fermenting nicely. My strike was off about 8 degrees but it will still be amazing.

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

Look in the end my lhbs crushed them for free. Rev you're right some of us can only brew on specific days and none the less what happened, over all it was a good day except my strike was off.

    Krausen or left over StarSan

So I didn't fear the foam on this brew but the fermentation appears a little different. More for curiosity than anything is the reason for my question. I had some foam left in the carboy when transferring from the kettle and there was a lot of foam in the carboy after the transfer was complete...

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

Regretfully my lhbs doesn't sell the mills. But he is a great guy. He is a customer service advocate without a doubt. I know the next time I'm getting my grain from him and the specialty if he doesn't have it from NB. I would like a homebrew mill but that will wait.

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

Well I tried the car thing. I will be honest I didn't think it would work but it did! I put my grains in a towel and got in my car. I was nervous because I didn't want to ruin or waste $30 worth of grain. So I got in my car and found myself surprised that my LHBS owner had not gone on their...

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

Thanks for the replies all. I think Corona mill would be best but oddly enough I don't think I will find a a corona style mill in my neck of the woods. I find it odd but I think I might be out of luck, I am considering the car option though.

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

That is what I thought too, uncrushed all together. Some are crushed and some aren't. I am pretty disappointed with MWS and wont order from them for kits again. However, I will look in to a corona style mill; I have not heard of that.

    Midwest Uncrushed Rapid Response

Hey all I should have checked the boards first but I fell victim to MWS terrible grain mill. I have about 16lbs total, I ordered the BEAVER chocolate Stout and well some grains are crushed others are not. My LHBS might still be on vacation but in any case tomorrow is brew day, no way around...

That is my concern, the headspace.

    how much priming sugar

Even though it's in a keg not bottles?

    how much priming sugar

I have an Oktoberfest fermenting on secondary now and in a week I will be putting 1 gallon in bottles with priming tablets. I want to prime the remaining 4 gallons with priming sugar in my keg but I'm not sure how much to use. Could some provide assistance on this matter, please and thank you.

    too cold to ferment

The beer is fermenting nicely. The temps have been between 64-66f. Overall I think it will be a good brew. I will get the yeast info from my LHBS tomorrow and post back.
