Homebrew wheat ale. It started out as a clone of the former Sierra Nevada wheat. I ended up using Voss kveik instead of Chico yeast, dry hopping and forgetting a 1/4 gallon of water. It's more neipa than American wheat, but tasty so far.

I zoomed in and the grain looks barely crushed.

    No-Chill Brewing?

When I use kveik yeast, I do minimal chill. Put the kettle in the sink with just tap water while I clean up and get the fermenter prepped. By the time that's all done the wort is just about pitching temp. It does help that I brew around 2 gallons.

    What are you drinking now?

Quite good. I looked up a clone recipe. It's only 2 row, Amarillo and citra with English yeast. Definitely on the to brew list

It's not as malty as I thought it was going to be. Of you haven't already, read the thread on red x malt. After reading that thread I decided not to use 100% red x as it sounded like it might be a little too sweet. If I make this again, I would add a little of another malt to give complexity...

    Us05 experience

I don't recall a tartness from us-05 and I've used it more than any other yeast. I just used Cellar Science Cali and it is pretty neutral like my experience with us05 Are you bottling or kegging? I have noticed some odd flavors when pouring from a bottled beer and I got some yeast in the glass.

    Hello from Berlin

Welcome! I visited Berlin a few years ago. I really liked it. I could eat döner every day! Are there homebrew shops or do you get everything online?

    Off topic - SodaStream trouble

I used to fill my own cylinders, but it became a pain and wasn't great if the donor cylinder wasn't full. I ended up going with the adapter kit to use a large co2 tank that I dedicate to the soda stream. That may solve your issue by throwing money at it. To me it sounds like a design flaw or...

70% red X malt, 30% 2 row with Mosaic hops. It could use a little more on the hop side and a dry hop would help. Not my best, but not my worst.

    Red X Malt

I will definitely dry hop next time. Not too bad though

How long can we save Ale yeast in the fridge.

I checked the gravity and it fermented, so Lutra is good in the fridge for a while

    Hops.... Mosaic/Galaxy/Sabro pairing

I've done galaxy, mosaic and Columbus which was quite good

    Any Yeast Recommendations?

Some of the new(er) Omega strains with the thiol producing stuff

    Octoberfest request

I used Lutra last year and it was pretty good. Not quite that lager taste, but enjoyable. I believe Brulosophy did one with kölsch or another German ale yeast at some point as well.

Why no higher end picnic taps?

Would these work for the biermuncher bottle filler/beer gun?

How long can we save Ale yeast in the fridge.

I just did my first starter to test out the stir plate I built. The yeast slurry has been in the fridge for almost a year. How do I tell that it's alive? It's been on the stir plate for almost 2 days. I used fermcap.

    Lager vs Kveik: The Test
