    Ok thank you

    bottling temp after cold crash

I've read that its not necessary to allow the beer to rise to room temps after a cold crash before you bottle. Can anyone vouch for that? I will be using a brewers friend priming calculator. I see how it factors temperature into the amount of sugar needed... but to me it seems to make more...

    ramping, cold crash, bottling temps

Thanks. Actually I've been fermenting at 68, not 70. Let me recap so I'm clear on this: 1: ferment at recommended yeast temp until final gravity is reached 2: gradually raise temp up to 70 degrees for a couple days for yeast cleanup 3: dry hop 7 days +/- 4: cold crash for about two days 5: bottle

    ramping, cold crash, bottling temps

Yes understood about hitting my FG before dry hopping. What is a good temperature for the ramping up/yeast cleanup stage? And how long should that last before cold crashing? Is it ok to bottle at cold crashing temp, or should I warm it up some before hand?

    ramping, cold crash, bottling temps

This is my first time with a temp controlled fermentation chamber. I'm planning a dry hop addition at the 14 day mark for 5 days followed by a 2 day cold crash, then bottling. I've read about ramping the temp up after fermentation is over to make the yeast clean up after itself. When and...

    Local Only Trade (LOT)

I'd love to get in on this too. If I understand this correctly, someone would have to grant jturman35 after he ships to TBC. I don't have 100 posts, but I've been a member for awhile. I have plenty of Delaware breweries at my disposal. I would be more than happy to put something together...

carboy temps, how to measure them

I had a little difficulty at the end of brew day trying to accurately measure my carboy temp. Transfered brew to carboy after cooling and added about a gallon of water to reach 5 gallons. I capped it off and gently turned it upside down a few times to try and mix the water and temps to get an...

    Free Stickers

Half Acre was kind enough to send me a few free stickers after I mailed them a self addressed stamped envelope. Does anybody know of other breweries that do this? My new freezer needs some love! Thanks

    Store bought H20

We recently moved into a new house. Its a new well, new plumbing etc.. so I'm not sure about our water yet. I'd like to break the garage in this weekend for my first brew at the new place. Is regular store bought Spring water good to use? I'm doing an extract IPA

    Ferm chamber setup

I scored a chest freezer for $40 off craigslist, got me a ferm wrap heater, inkbird, and small fan. Ran a test carboy full of water the last couple days at 70degrees. Works great. What are you guys doing with your fans? Mounting them somehow? Also is it ok to just run the cords out the top...
