    Non-refillable bottles ?

I haven't seen refillable bottles for a long time, but I remember they were much heavier than other bottles. If I had to guess, refillable bottles were thicker and made to take the abuse of multiple fillings.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Did a robust porter yesterday. That makes four weekends in a row for brewing which is great, but I've found that more than four weeks in a row is too much. Taking a break for a little while.

    Traditional dunkelweizen ingredients?

To your original Q, you can add really dark stuff right at the end of the mash or steep dark stuff in the wort before the boil. That'll give you color and no flavor contributions. Dehusked Carafa III is my favorite for this trick.

    Who's hosting an Oktoberfest party?

Next weekend. I have an altbier and dunkelweizen ready to go, along with some non-traditional stuff like a Cascade Pale ale and a dark Belgian. Menu will include a pork butt smoked not quite to fall-apart temp for a close-enough spanferkel, sausages, pretzels, potato pancakes and more stuff TBD.

    Traditional dunkelweizen ingredients?

My go-to recipe every year is 5.5 lbs Munich (not the dark 10 L stuff), 5.5 lbs dark wheat and, at the end of the mash, stir in 2 oz of dehusked Carafa III to add a little more color. I don't have a photo, but it's a beautiful copper amber color.

We had MTV Classic for a little while earlier this year. It was awesome - nothing but videos from the old days.

    Remember when...

That song comes from a whole CD of covers - the Ramones do the Spider-Man theme song, Face to Face does the Popeye song, the Violent Femmes do Eep-Opp-Ork-Ah-Ah, from the Jetsons, etc.

I didn't watch the show but I know Liz Phair and Material Issue covered the theme song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JvB5AL59fM

What I did for beer today

Brewed up a stewbrew - mostly base malts and leftover Cascade plus fresh Cascade, so it'll probably turn out like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Then kegged my Altbier and got yeast going for the dunkelweizen I'll do next weekend.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Was planning on doing a stewbrew - I have an unknown mix of Briess 2-row, Briess Pale Ale and c40. I also have 3 oz of leftover Cascade. So I'm gonna get some more 2 row and more Cascade and just run with it. Was going to do it Sunday. FIL texted this afternoon and offered a ticket to the...
