    Time frame for cooling wort?

^^^^^ 4 10lb bags of ice? Holy crap! I used 1 pound for each batch. And like was said, use the same sanitized spoon and stir the wort slowly and not long, once it gets spinning it will continue without stiring.

    Time frame for cooling wort?

No, you can cool it down much faster than that. My larger batch of wort I did yesterday(2.5-3 gallons). After running cold water to get it really cold, I put the kettle in the closed(clogger) sink and ran cold water making the water go around the kettle, at the same time stiring the wort. After...

Well, I still got it! Keg frige conv. pics. Some questions.

Not the easiest to remove, put some weight into pulling it out. Now they fit, Bigins FTW!. It's hardened foam that you can make form to the kegs. Duel tap, it came with these cheesy 13/64 drilled holes and screws. I drilled the 4 holes on the tap to 1/4". Got a 3/8" 15x15 piece of...

Well, I still got it! Keg frige conv. pics. Some questions.

I usually did 2 - 5 gallon batches at a time, but since I haven't brewed since the late '90's, I did 2 batches one at a time just for the expierience. My first batch on Friday was an "Octane IPA" kit that has 9.3lb of liquid malt. My 2nd brew on Saturday was my recipe I call "Whoopass Stout"...

It's been years since I brewed my Stout so I need some ideas for aroma hops. My Stout is a very clean drinkable stout, not a thick Stout. Suggestions?

Thanks Mikey. So now I want to age the beer in the keg for 2 weeks right? And yet I want to hook up the CO2 to it for those 2 weeks?

    procedures for kegging?

I'm getting into kegging for the first time as well, I'm 2/3's the way of converting a small keg fridge with 2 - 5 gallon kegs and a top tap. So I plan on using this thread for asking some questions that will hopefully help others. I've purchased all of my equiptment and am on the verge of...

    benifits of glass carboy

I'm not quite sure of the answer you're looking for but... Glass > plastic When the Glenwood Inglewood water delivery company switched from glass to plastic, they sold their 5 gallon carboys for $10ea US. I bought 3 and then when I went from the office building to the warehouse to pick...

After a 5 gallon keg is tapped, how long is the beer good for?

Ok, cool. Times between tapping and emptying will vary. Except during the football season. I'm getting NFL Network HD this year. :ban: :mug: Thanks! :rockin:

After a 5 gallon keg is tapped, how long is the beer good for?

Hi everyone! I'm thinking of both making a keg fridge with a smaller fridge I have, and making and buying 5 gallon kegs of beer. But I first need to know how many days is a 5 gallon keg of beer good for once it's tapped? And is it the same with a 3 gallon keg?
