What do you use when you squeeze BIAB?

Another thought - You could place a plate on each side of the bag and use a handscrew clamp to put the squeeze on it. They can get pretty big.. Harbor Freight has a 12" one for $12. Or maybe even buy the mechanical components of one of those clamps and use a couple of 2x4's to make an extra...

What do you use when you squeeze BIAB?

If you use something as a vessel that doesn't have to be kept pristine, then the option of having something flimsy, that will deform under pressure comes into play. As long as it has sufficient tensile strength to keep from coming apart it could be used. I thought about testing with a 5 gal...

Anyone solve a way to hold the controller in one place?

I solved the issue of holding the controller in one place for use. I thought I would share, as others might be looking to solve the same problem. I made use of one of those clamp on laptop arms. $34 and looks like it will be a good solution. The bonus is, it fully attaches to my mobile...

    Oxebar Keg?

Any updates from anyone? Have they performed well? That is a fabulous price to do kegging. They can tolerate 58PSI. They don't have the seepage of PET bottles. I am really intrigued by these kegs. Anyone?

Anyone solve a way to hold the controller in one place?

I have a Blichmann Brew commander 220v The power plug coming out is rather short and extremely beefy. - a good thing but creates a problem when trying to use it. I stow my components in a cabinet before use. I don't want to permanently mount the unit to the wall etc. Because the cord to...

What do you use when you squeeze BIAB?

I am wondering if a cheap inflatable bag or even a heavy duty small swimming pool float device etc. could be used to apply pressure. Sliding a cylinder over the bag with the deflated pillow on one side.. Then pumping the pillow to squeeze on the bag. Offhand I think it is intriguing. It...

What do you use when you squeeze BIAB?

I found something nice for applying pressure to the bag and squeeze out some more wort. I had a bunch of those wire panels (approx 12"x12") that are used to click together and make storage cubes. I took two of the panels.. and zip tied them together along one edge. It makes a hinged "V"...

Performing no chill by leaving wort in kettle overnight

I think I will try this on the weekend. I always do no-chill.. but I have always used a sealed hedpak container. As the wort cools it is going to draw in a little outside air into the kettle. The hedpak is always sunken in a bit due to the vacuum it generates. This shows just how...

    DIY Pinlock Beer Line Cleaner

I use PBW.. nothing fancy. I tend to flush the lines then let them sit with the cleaner inside and repeat if there is any need.. I will shoot some Starsan through the lines before use.

    DIY Pinlock Beer Line Cleaner

+1 for what @rtstrider said. I built that sprayer years ago to clean my lines. I dont do pin locks but I think its only a difference in the fitting you screw onto the sprayer. That little device has been great.

7.3 Gal of wort in Fermzilla All Rounder. Can it deal with it?

Well.. yeah.. but I don't wanna do that. :) I was hoping someone would say. "oh yeah.. you can just ferment under 20 lbs of pressure and it will sufficiently suppress the foam and you wont have any issues".. I know.. I know.. :)

7.3 Gal of wort in Fermzilla All Rounder. Can it deal with it?

My recipe is supposed to deliver 6.6 gal to the fermenter. Obviously my equipment profile is off as I ended up with a whopping 7.3 gal (just under 28L in the rounder). That's really full.. What kind of a foaming sh** storm have I set myself up for? Has anyone put that much in the rounder...

    Workspace suggestions?

I am late to the party.. but I found this is a perfect brew table. Its very very strong (the picture on the website is deceiving) and the best part is the adjustability. The $129 price tag is easy to deal with as well. You can buy this unit, and split it into two separate units (bonus!) -...

No chill - throwing flameout hops in cube

FWIW - Another nice element of doing the cubing is splitting up the tasks and time. I had a hot-cubing brew session last night. I haven't brewed in quite a while, and I bought a new EBIAB setup, so it was almost like learning it all again.. I found my old notes and remembered I found a 30...

    Spike Solo Owner's Thread

I thought I would share this little ditty about storage options for the larger kettles: I am a new owner of a 20 Gal Spike kettle and have built a compact brewing rig on wheels that I pull into the center of the shop, brew, and roll back against the wall for storage. One issue I wanted to...
