    First brew on my own.

Nope....added it at Flameout. I used local honey so I wanted to make sure I somewhat "sanitize" the honey. So I wanted the wort to be hot when it was added.

Thanks for holding my job until I heal beer 4 my boss

^^^ what he said. I would also encourage you to visit your Local Homebrew Store if there is one near you. These are generally small shops and the owner or whomever runs the place will be more than happy to answer questions and potentially get up with other local home brewers. That along with...

    First brew on my own.

I brewed this recipe about a year ago. I added the honey at flameout and added 12oz honey malt. Turned out pretty dang good. I would not worry about a secondary with this recipe. As for the first I always point people to a good Blonde recipe or a simple APA for the first.

    Possibly over-bittered

What type of beer is this? 1.4oz at flameout will not ruin a beer. You may actually enjoy it better than what the recipe calls for depending on the style

I would think that someone on Etsy can do etched mugs/glasses

    Notes Notes Notes

I started off brewing with mini mash as opposed to all extract. With that I ended up going all grain after 5 batches. After those 5 brews for mini mash and a couple weeks of reading articles, watching you tubes, reviewing recipes, and of course this forum I was extremely comfortable with...

    Notes Notes Notes

For me I don't take a ton of notes. Biggest thing i note is if I make a on the fly change. For example I had to sub centinneal with amarillo for one hop additions because I ran out. So I wrote that down just in case it ended up being the best beer ever. Also gravity readings I'll take notes...

    Average age of home brewers......

32 and I brew roughly once a month outside of football season. 2 - 3 times a month starting August and during football season. I tailgate fir home games and throw parties for Falcons away games. 5 or 10 gallons depending on the beer.

Scaling from 5gal to 10gal all grain batch

Same here. You will see a higher efficiency in the 10 gallon recipe. I have my first 10 gallon batch in primary now. It's a blonde that I brew a ton and cant keep in the kegs because of friends/neighbors (the reason I'm going to 10 gallon). What is normally a 1048 -1050 OG just did 1058...

Help With All Cascade Pale Ale

Yeah I'm going to try it again probably next week but with Centennial. This was the quickest that I ever drained a keg. I Have a ton of centinneal in my aresonal. It will get in my 10 gallon rotation after that.

    American IPA Hopslam Clone

theelectricbrewery.com has a hopslam clone recipe on their site that I hear is very close. You will have to adjust their recipes for your efficiency as they assume 85% or something like that.

    Ale to the Chief

Every time i think about this iI'm not at home to pull this from beer smith. Below is the recipe that i use and tweaked over the past year or so. This is for 5 gallons and my efficiency is about at 70%. If you want the beersmith file let me know and ill get it over to you. No. 44 Brown Ale...

    Ale to the Chief

I've converted it to all grain and used American hops amongst other tweaks. I used local honey from Fayetteville, GA. It's a favorite amongst friends and family. Only downside is that it's a bit expensive to brew when using local honey.

Ordered Grist incorrectly... should I even bother?

I think you could have turned it into a decent Stout....to be honest, one of my best beers came from a mistake. well it happens to the best of us.

Leave CO2 on? Turn it off?

I agree that Turning off every night is a bit extreme. But for those who only pour 2 days or so out the week then it's cheap insurance on the off days. However if there is a leak, fix it as others have said.
  19. blubrewbbq

    Add honey, explosion.

Last few minutes of boil. Especially with fresh honey.

Leave CO2 on? Turn it off?

Yeah I would keep it off. Although I pour much more than 3 or 4 a week, I only drink on Friday evenings and weekends. I turn mine off Sunday night and I just sat down for turning it on for this weekend.
