    DIY Peltier cooler ??

I have done a little research on the peltier device. Yes they are inefficient however they are also inexpensive. I have a 100 W peltier and heat sinks and fans in route. I will be trying to reduce my fermentation chamber 12 x 12x 30 box from 71 degrees to low 60's. Since there is aproximently 65...

    My $5 sparge arm

I used that spray head on my last brew with terrible results. All of the sparge water dropped down the middle. Missed my OG by several points. May be another reason but I blame too much sparge water in the center. Won't use it again.

any thoughts on how to get cold air from kegerator into separate fermentation chamber

I was planning on using the fountain pump system but I am working on a Peltier cooler at the moment. I believe I can drop ambient temps by at least 10 degrees with a 9 amp Peltier. I let you know if it works!

Bottlers Beware --- Check Your Caps!

Could not get a satisfactory repeatable cap with wing capper, moved to super Agatha and broke the plastic on the first case. Built the pneumatic and never looked back!

    AC vent for temp control?

You could place the fermentor next to the vent and cover the vent and the fermentor with a box. May not be ideal but assuming 50 degree output from vent should reduce fermentor a few degrees. I am working on using computer fans to feed my 3 bay fermentation chamber using input from the AC...

    Cheap compact wort pump

 Chinese is Chinese, buy cheap and take our chances, most times it works out great. I have had very good response buying off EBay, not so good on Alibaba. Great response from vendors on the forum including those selling Chinese components. Bought 3 ITC-1000 temp controllers, one...

    Cheap compact wort pump

Just curious as to needing the extra valve after the pump if I use the motor speed controls. I have purchased the valves, pumps, power supply and speed controls. Now rethinking the extra valve.

    Naming / describing your recipe

Kind of tough call, it's not that I want to take credit for the "new" recipe version but I also don't want to tell someone that it is a certain recipe that substantially is different. Thanks for all of your opinions, I think I will use different name so as not to potentially implying a...

    Naming / describing your recipe

Hi everyone Many times I am brewing beers that start with someone else's recipe. The final recipe is close to the original but modified for my system and taste. When someone asked me what beer it is, I am reluctant to call it the name of the original recipe because it is different, sometimes...

    Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler Cracked

I have used StarSan on mine since day one. Should not be an issue on any product developed for our hobby as StarSan is the go to sanitizer for us. Would love to hear if it is not recommended.

    Plastic Big Mouth Bubbler Cracked

Have not had an issue yet, they are very thin and I do handle them like glass. I would suggest contacting them for a replacement. They have been very attentive to problems and correcting them. They have been a good vendor for me, along with everyone else I have had the pleasure of doing business...

    Hop scaling in BeerSmith

I have recently switched to 10 gallon all grain batches and the resulting beers seem to be sweeter than the 5 gal versions. It could be me or some other anomaly. Anyone experience an issue scaling a recipe up in BeerSmith and having insufficient bittering? Thank in advance. :mug:
