    Blichmann top tier question

The burner could hold the weight but it may not fit a rectangular cooler. It would hold a round one with no issuers. I have three burners on mine and may buy a shelf just to have during brew day so it may be worth it to have both.

    Brew Kettle...Which to choose?

It all depends on features and how much you are willing to spend. I have a Blichmann and I love it. For me it is the best kettle but I waited four years into my hobby to invest the coin.

    Wyeast question

To anwser your question it may inflate within a couple hours. You will be fine to use for 24 hours or so. If you can make a starter it is always the best.

    First time using liquid yeast

I would use a starter. Using Beersmith it suggests around 850ML starter if you use a stir plate. If not then you would need about a 1.4 L starter I usually make mine 36-48 hours a head of time. But have done it as little as 18-24 hours with good results. Always a good idea to make a starter...

    Ruby street brewing system

I know with Ruby Street they don't ship directly to you. You have to purchase the system through your home brew store. I was quoted $2500 for the ten gallon and $3200 for the mega system. I listed the break down below. Again this was through one of the home brew stores in the area. Included...

    Ruby street brewing system

When I was researching form my new rig I looked at them and liked what I saw. It is a complete setup for a decent price. I ended up going with the Top Tier because I wanted the flexablity with the system and was easier for me to add things down the road. This is not a knock on Ruby Street. Top...

    Pumpkin! The great debate!

You also say "pumpkin pie" taste did you use pumpkin or pumpkin pie filling which is already spiced? Huge difference pumpkin has not a lot of pumpkin pie flavor on its own. It's the spices that give it the pumpkin pie taste not the pumpkin itself

    Pumpkin ale suggestions

Two things at work here. The pumpkin itself has no "spice" type flavor. I use plain pumpkin filling in the mash. I find this adds color and body but does little for the flavor. If I am going for that spiced flavor I use all spice, clove, etc. in the secondary. I have not used pumpkin pie...
