    What's My Next Upgrade?

It depends for how satisfied with your current crush is from your grain source. For me I make a starter for every batch and I think it is such an important step. If you don't have enough yeast you are stuck with a problem. If your crush isn't perfect you may suffer from lower efficiency but will...

    Larger Starter

Hey Everyone, This may be a dumb question but I thought I would as anyway. I am making a Lager, when I make my starter is it OK to make it at room temp?

    New To Brewing

The fermentation temp will vary depending on the yeast. Most Heffs are in the low to mid 70's they handle higher temps. Like mentioned above I cannot give you an exact how many days to ferment but with Heffs in the higher temps they normally run quickly through fermentations. I have made a...

What did not come in the mail today?

What did not come in the mail today?

I have ordered some new toys from Blichmann and October Seamers both well over a week ago and it has been radio silent. Now on both their websites it says there is a delay so no issue but I may not see this stuff for 3-4 weeks.

    I need a glycol chiller

I have the SS BrewTech glycol unit and it works great. I have had for a couple of years and have not had any issues with it at all. That being said I have a lot of Blichmann products and they are top shelf as well.

Yes, the fermenters have the stainless coils inside. The compressor is about as loud as a fridge. The pumps are very quiet. You use 1 gallon liquid glycol and two gallons of distilled water. Said should change once a year. You can use it on four fermenters at a time. It was pricy but it is...

    Home Brewery

I have only done a water test. I will be using it this weekend for the first time. I turned on the unit and it took the glycol down to 38 degrees in about ten minutes. I put hot water in one of the fermenters 120 degrees. The unit kicked on and took it to 68 degrees in about twenty minutes. It...
