    Faucets from Simgo

Hey all, Does anyone here use the faucets from Simgo in Canada? The one's I'm talking about are chrome plated, not stainless steel. They will likely be way cheaper for me than to order Perlick 525ss faucets from the USA. Originally I was going to get some 525's but if the quality of the...

    Show us your Kegerator

Me either. Actually they are coming out as 1x1 pixel images so something must be broken WRT the site album (for some users?).

    Inverted Keg for Mash Tun?

Hi, I've been planning an inverted bottom drain keg MLT as well. Here are some recent threads: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/rip-cooler-e-hlt-helloooooo-bottom-drain-keg-e-hlt-176101/ https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/sanke-weldless-bottom-drain-193562/ Also, here's an awesome idea of...

Home Brewing In Halifax, Nova Scotia

I have no idea why there's no club, or if there is one why it's not publicised. Try calling Noble Grape in Burnside, they would know. I know there are tonnes of brewers here though.

Home Brewing In Halifax, Nova Scotia

Totally, I caught it in my daily "beer" search. About some kind of club, I'd be interested in that. There are a few others in the area on HBT as well that may be.

5 gal lemon lime soda recipe

Oh yeah, I shake the crap out of the keg to mix it and usually toss in a couple trys of ice as I'm topping up the water so it will start carbing faster (cold).

5 gal lemon lime soda recipe

Hi everyone, I'm about to make this soda for about the 5th time or so, and the 3rd time as a 5 gallon batch in a corny keg. It's nice and light and the kids like it every bit as much as sprite or 7-up but it is definitely not a clone. If you want to test this on a smaller batch (2L bottle...

HABANERO for subtle flavor Best style & hops?

If you want more habanero flavor and less heat try to find some tobago seasoning or trinidad perfume. They are habanero type peppers (capsicum chinense) with habanero flavor and very low heat. Also, it is true that most of the pepper's heat is in the placenta and on the seeds, peppers like the...

    Steeping Oatmeal

Also, flaked or rolled oats do not contain the enzymes required to convert their starches to sugars. You need to mash oats with a base malt like 2-row for that to happen. The enzymes from the base malt will convert the sugars in the oats.

    Sanke Weldless Bottom Drain

Thanks, Bobby_M. You're right, cleaning this every time may be a pain... I was thinking that as well. I like your idea of tacking on some stainless bolts instead of using all of those fittings. I will probably stick with the inverted keg for other reasons (and when it's done I will post about...

    Sanke Weldless Bottom Drain

I am planning an upside down keg MLT and was also thinking of this issue with the false bottom moving around while stirring. This thread got me thinking. I'm at work so sorry for the awesome pen scratched diagram. I uploaded it with my phone. :mug: The 3/4" fitting should allow room for a...

Cut keg top for false bottom?

Guys, I'm planning an upside down keg for my MLT, "bottom draining" through the sankey opening - Thank you Duckfoot. My "top" will be smooth and have no hole in the middle so this will be a PERFECT use for it. I am planning on a different lid for my MLT. Thanks!

    I love no sparge brewing...

Yeah, after all of the nit picking about efficiency I think you're right, it's well worth it. I just discovered that the "6.5 gallon" brew pot I picked up second hand is really 33.5 quart, > 8 gallon. I might build a system like this with a cooler MT.

    Hydrometer inacuracy in mid scale?

The first three were extract brews with about 50/50 LME/DME, the 4th a wort-in-a-bag (AG Festa brew). The first ones I did were in primary for 3 weeks (not much free time to rack, etc) and stopped fermentation (tried various methods or waking the yeast up). I shook the crap out of my carboys...

    I love no sparge brewing...

I've been thinking about this setup a lot. Have any of you tried something like this but like a recirculating batch sparge? What I mean is, start with a bit more than half the total water to mash with (recirculate or not), dump the first runnings into a bucket or some temporary holding...

    Hydrometer inacuracy in mid scale?

Hi all. I have been brewing since the beginning of the year with 4 batches under me (last two in primary right now). I've been reading HBT almost daily for almost a year, and have read Palmer's book, How to Brew. My first two beers finished stuck at 1.020 according to my hydrometer. Both...
