Filling 14 gallon conical from the bottom

Hey all, I'm about to use my new 14 gallon SS conical for the first time. I'd like to use my march 809 pump to fill it through the bottom 1.5" TC fitting through about 20 feet of 1/2" silicon tubing. Do you think the pump can handle filling it from the bottom, especially when it's nearly...

    My DIY Whirlpool Arm

Cool, I got some copper fittings to make mine. Where's the new pics?

    S.S. Growler Carbonator

That's cool. It's not a big leap to add a liquid out tap to that lid as well. Something like this but with only one post, put a thumb tap on the other side.

    Mason Jar Sight Glass Harvester

Both good ideas. I'll post here if I find a better lid.

    Mason Jar Sight Glass Harvester

You win the internets. This just saved me from buying a 1-1/2" TC sight glass to harvest yeast with. Have you experimented with various sized jars?

    My DIY Whirlpool Arm

The way it's hooked on the pot handle there may prevent that.

    My DIY Whirlpool Arm

Awesome, I'll post back here with my build as well.

    My DIY Whirlpool Arm

This is wicked awesome and I've been thinking of making something almost exactly like this for a while now, camlock and everything. One thing that I was planning on doing different was to put a 1/2" to 3/8" reducer on the exit, then a short length of 1/4" flexible copper (which will fit inside...

    Sanitizing tap between pours?

The bars are constantly pouring, it's not the same game.

    Sanitizing tap between pours?

I keep a spray bottle of startan solution at my kegerator and give it a spray after I pour to keep **** from growing in there and clean out the residual beer. Edit: lol at the automatic swear word blocking

    Using Vaseline for keg lube.

I think keg lube is white petroleum jelly. I use some no-name vaseline which is also white petroleum jelly.

    Conan Yeast Experiences

What are you doing for aeration? I'm about to have a go at this yeast.

Desperatly seeking conan yeast in Canada

Any luck with this? I'm in Canada too, trying to find some Conan. I'm going to make a couple phone calls tomorrow.

    Inline Oxygenation

Have you tried it yet? I've been eyeing that one too but one of the comments there say wort will flow back through the tube. I'm not sure I want to deal with that...

My attempt at a 20 gallon, future-prrof system with stout tanks

This is awesome. I've been thinking about doing a Brutus 20 electric with a stout mash tun and bk (20 gal). I'll be following your build!

Danby 10.2 (DCFM289WDD) Keezer Build Thread

Yeah, 6 out the front. If I do that it might be worth getting right angle tail pieces. Thanks for the reply, I now have something to think about.

Danby 10.2 (DCFM289WDD) Keezer Build Thread

I'm thinking about getting this same model either tonight or tomorrow at Costco. I have 6 perlicks to go in. Is it a bitch to get kegs in and out with shanks in the way? Thanks! Sweet build too! :mug:

How is my RIMS defying the laws of physics??

Maybe your strike temp was too high. In that case the body of your mash would be hotter than the wort coming out the RIMS tube.

    DIY Carboy/Keg Cleaner

I just build one of these and have some thoughts and a question. I'm going to put a quick disconnect of some sort near the top of the vertical pipe so I can swap out attachments like a spray ball (diy), bottle cleaner, and ball lock post for cleaning my beer lines. Also, do you guys pump star...

    Atlantic Bitter - ESB

Yeah I find the yeast to be a big part of any ESB and one reason it's hard to nail. I'm going to brew this again soon and I'll follow up with my results as well.
