    Adding gypsum

Thanks! I'm brewing tomorrow, and I just have been planning to take a swing at it with 2 tsps because it can't hurt. I do plan to check into the water test and find out what else I can do.

    Adding gypsum

Please do. I actually downloaded Bru N Water just now and have been looking at it. I am going to have to get a water report for sure, but this could be a game changer.

    I'll look into that, thanks!

    Adding gypsum

I have not yet. The home brew store is close enough that his water would be somewhat similar to mine. He said he uses 2 tsps. I have tried to contact my local water people, but they keep dodging my phone call. I just want to know the mineral content, but they probably think I'm trying to sue...

    Adding gypsum

So, this will be my first time adding anything to the water to make different profiles. The homebrew shop nearest me says he uses gypsum to get the dry crispness in his WCIPA. I WANT THAT TOO! When do I add the gypsum? My guess is add to the strike water before the grain goes in, but that is...

    Hey

Probably true there as well, I did not sparge much because my kettle size. Actually, the only thing I have that is ample size is the mash tun (60 qts), but I only sparged 1 gallon with that big batch. I have acquired two empty 1/2 bbl kegs, and over time I am going to get a 3rd one and build my...

    Hey

Brew scene in OK is improving as far as craft beer. We've lost a couple of microbreweries over the years, but many more have popped up to take the place. As for homebrewing - I want to join the homebrew club in the town where I work/go to school, but it is almost an hour away from my house. So...

    Hey

Yeah, I have some things to work out with my mash tun...as in I need a new one with a HERMS system. I lose too much temperature over the mash.

    Hey

Hey yall! I am from Oklahoma and I have been brewing for about 15 years now. I switched to all-grain about 10 years ago. I probably average 6 - 10 batches/year, but I am looking to increase that this year. Currently in the fermenting fridge is a Imperial coffee stout. The grain bill was 27lbs...

    How did you find us?

Honestly, I'm not sure how I initially found you, probably Googled a brewing question like I did today. When I went to register, apparently I had already done so a couple of years ago. Whoops! I am brewing a little more often now, so I will probably be more active on the page.

    Stuck Fermentation?

    Gracias!

    Stuck Fermentation?

Ok, so I am fermenting an RIS which I had planned for BIG abv. I ran it up to 1.114 OG, and it has fermented over the course of 2 weeks to 1.040. I would REALLY like to see it at 1.020 before I keg it, but the bubbling has essentially stopped. Can I pitch it again? Should I stir it? Should I...
