Kegged on Sunday and pulled a pint last night. It definitely needs some time to mellow, but it's very enjoyable right now. The nose is stunning. It smells like fresh apricots. Right now it's not much like DFH 60, but I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I got a few used kegs that need a little refurbishing from a friend. As I was disassembling one I found a big spot of rust in the bottom of the tank. Is there any way to fix it? Or do I just need to scrub it off and will it be okay? Obviously I'm concerned about ruining whatever beer I put into...

I do 1 cup of DME to 1200 ml (or 5 cups) of water and it has always worked perfectly for me. Your gravity for the starter is a little higher than ideal, but I would think that it should still be okay. I can't calculate the SG at the moment though.

That's basically what I did in iBrewmaster, but in 5 minute intervals. Came out to 61.59 IBU's.

+1 to Jack's Abby. I live in central MA and I have had the pleasure of trying most of their brews. I haven't found a mediocre one yet. They try to source locally whenever possible as well. Hoponius Union is one of my favorite beers of all time. Clean and crisp with perfect hop presence.
