    Custom Tap Handles

Thank you. I need to get a 3D printer to make them from scratch instead of sacrificing items from my nerd shelf. lol

    Custom Tap Handles

Also made a WoW handle for my Goldshire Cream Ale.

    Custom Tap Handles

Anybody else make their own tap handles out of random stuff? I just finished these two. Buddy Christ for is for my Dogmatic IPA and the Knight’s arm/sword for my Heironeous’ (he is my D&D paladin's deity) Kolsch. I have a few more planned in the near future. I think each solid recipe I come up...

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

I had foil over it for most of the time, I switched it out for an airlock right before bed and apparently that made it angry. Lol

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

Yesterday morning I made a 800ml starter @ 1.040. Within 2 hours I had krausen all over the place. I waited a few more hours until dropped back down. Cleaned my flask and stir plate up and put an airlock on it. Just checked on it and looks like it took off again over night and puked krausen all...

    Chance of blowoff tube clogging?

A lot of people advise you to not lift a full carboy with them and I’m not saying they are wrong, but I haven’t had any issues using them to move around my full carboys. Eventually I’ll probably switch to the webbing style carriers but I have 10 Glass carboys so that’s a lot of money that I...

    Chance of blowoff tube clogging?

If you use carboys for fermenting I recommend making a couple of these. After cleaning beer and krausen off my ceiling and walls I decided not to take chances again.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

My weekends are Tues-Thurs (working for the airlines has it's downsides) so I usually brew Wednesdays (my Saturday). This week will be a mango IPA.

    What fermenter are you using?

That's what I do until the day I can talk the wife into letting me buy a conical and chiller (I think it may be a while). The thought of only having to lift something a few inches sounds like heaven! lol

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

That thread just seemed to be aprichman and NB arguing over the origins of the strain. I just wanted to see and talk about what people plan on doing or have done with it since where it came from doesn't really interest me.

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

Anybody pick up any Imperial A30 Corporate? I originally went to get supplies for a blonde ale but my LHBS just got it in stock a couple days ago and I thought the description was interesting. “Corporate is a Pacific Northwest favorite and is an excellent choice when making hop forward American...

    Imperial Yeast A30 Corporate

I just picked up a pack of A30 Corporate from my LHBS yesterday for a mosaic IPA I'm brewing on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited to try it out.

    Solitary brewer ?

Started brewing with my old man and spent a few years as the assistant but when he gave it up I got the brewery and am now brewing solo. It's nice and relaxing to brew alone, but I do enjoy drinking with friends/family while brewing.

    First beer is a success!

Congrats! You will remember that beer for the rest of your life. Mosaic is great for adding fruity flavors!

I thought I knew how to brew

Yeah, I was ecstatic when I saw it on offerup and even more so when I got it and realized how nice it actually is. I just got a 60W car battery heat pad, an inkbird308, and a computer fan to give it better temp control than just cooling. It now holding 10 gal of cider and 10 gal of mead in long...

    Malt mix up

Yeah, who knows what I actually got for grains. I thought it might be dark instead of light but it could be anything including what I asked for. lol As for the grain mill, I have a 3 roller crankandstein that I finished setting up since I posted this. It was rusty from being in storage so it...

    Malt mix up

I have not done a water test at my new house yet but plan to in the near future.

    Malt mix up

Yeah, I'm basing it off the color of it in it's primary but even though it's more beer to look through, I don't see it lightening up to be the 4.1 SRM that the recipe called for. As for the boil, it was 60min.

    Malt mix up

Thanks for the input guys. I am new to brewing on my own. I was recently given my dads brewery as he is getting too old to do a lot of brewing. We used to brew a lot together at his house but I would just be there for brew day and later to help him drink it. So I am new to recipe creation (this...
