    Hello!

Welcome! Kegging is so much easier than bottling. Nothing to worry about at all. Just check all your connections by either submersing them in water or spaying with soapy water. It really sucks hooking up a keg and checking on it a few days later to find an empty co2 tank.

    So I was bored....

I can't believe 3 year old yeast worked. Impressive! And welcome back!

    Pineapple wheat struggles

Lol, good to know. Did you use any potassium sorbate or just rely on the cold temp to prevent fermentation?

    Pineapple wheat struggles

Yes it was pineapple extract. I did both because the pineapple sweetness fermented out and all that was left was the citric bitterness. So I added the extract to try and add back some of the flavor I was looking for.

    Pineapple wheat struggles

Tried brewing a pineapple wheat using pineapple puree in secondary with a 3 day dry hop of mosaic and amarillo and added about 2.5 fl oz extract (in 5 gal batch) at kegging. Getting a very predominant chemical taste from the extract. Drinkable but not really enjoyable. Plus there is no way I'll...

    Custom Tap Handles

It’s been a couple years since I rolled but I still have my favorite pally, my good dice, and all the manuals in my desk drawer.

    Hey there

Welcome to the forum! If you are looking for constructive criticism I might recommend looking into local homebrew clubs around your area. They are a great resource and usually a lot of fun.

    Custom Tap Handles

Thanks. It was a letter opener. I glued the sword to the hand and attached a ferrule. I have a few more nerdy knick-knacks I'm going to be turning into tap handles in the next couple weeks when I find time.

    Custom Tap Handles

Next time have him make it with a thick solid bottom and attach a ferrule instead of 3d printing the threads. I have a friend printing me a Death Star and Totoro.

Should I convert my fridge to kegerator ???

I would recommend going with a fermentation fridge and getting a keezer later on. For less than $40 you can improve your beer quality, make any style of beer you want year round, and easily replicate your successful recipes with the same temp schedules. As for making a kegerator/keezer, the...

Workers in Songs. A surprisingly good Americana band from Denmark.

    Finished Taps

Very nicely done! Looks very clean and has an old dark noir look to it. I'm usually not the biggest fan of the steampunk genre (cyberpunk is more my style) but I really dig what you have done.

    Show me your tap handles!

Here are my 3 current handles. I’m going to be making more soon.

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

It's a recipe I found and liked the the reviews of. It was described as an IPA for those who do not really like IPA's. Being someone who is not a big fan of them, I figured I would give it a go. The mosaic hops should give it some fruity notes and I hoped the "hop forward" yeast would enhance...

    New Imperial brand IPA yeast

And as a fairly new brewer, talking about the technical side of yeast strains, their origins, and where they are going, is above and beyond the scope of my experience and/or interest at this point. That is why I wanted to ask people what they are doing/planning to do with this yeast rather than...
