    I am looking at an extract kit from Midwest Supplies, Hank's Hefeweizen, it states included is "Carapils® specialty grains", is this just "BRIESS CARAPILS® MALT - MAILLARD MALTS®" , which they sell? Basically malt in this case? thank you, Dean

    Usually when people get sick it is something they ate 12 hours or so earlier, my SIL(health inspector) told me. Wait a week and try it again, if you get sick again then might be the beer. You could ship me some and I will try it. ;) Dean

    Nice pictures, I am jealous as well. Closest I got was a case of Pilsner Urquell brought smuggled over the border to Austria while I was in college in the 80s. I still remember it tasting better than what I buy now in the stores. Dean

    Revvy, I ended up buying the same chemical you use from tractor supply company by Dionne. I need 2 1/2 gallons and ended up using 1 Tablespoon, but my water didn't have any color, do I need to bump up the quantity of the chemical? What rate do you use? thanks, Dean

    Irish Red using Wyeast 1007 German Ale

    Same thing I was thinking as I thought I could use the German Ale yeast for the Irish Red and then Lager it in the secondary, thus giving me something like a Killians Red with a bit more flavor. Dean
