    The Home Made Pizza Thread

Is that a hexagonal pizza, to give a clear guide to proper slicing? [emoji3]

    What are you drinking now?

First full day of spring. Drinking newly tapped HB Export Dunkel, a nod to the days when all the old school American breweries brought out a "Bock" for spring. Yeah I know my photographic skills on dark beers suck. Mixing in some PBRs and cheap bourbon so I don't really care.

    End of the world supply

I'd happily trade places with you. Those "boring" German beers are what I love, and just can't get here. I don't at all care for 99.99% of American "craft" beer. Maybe that should be craft "beer." One of the main reasons I brew.

Saving CO2 while "sheltering in place" give me some tips on pressurized fermentation

Spunding does require doing an FFT so you'll know exactly what FG will be, and using a spunding valve for extra insurance because you often can't transfer at exactly the right time. But it saves a lot of time over other methods of conditioning or carbonating in the keg (takes 0 days, actually,)...

    What are you drinking now?

You have a vowel if you just play in Latin (V.) But then there's only, like, two words that might use the K.... sorry, done being a nerd.

Saving CO2 while "sheltering in place" give me some tips on pressurized fermentation

Look into spunding. You don't ferment under pressure, but transfer to keg with a few gravity points left to go, and you're fully carbonated when you hit FG. Lots of info on the forums. Also a low oxygen technique which will help all your beers, especially hoppy ones, stay fresh until the...

What I did for beer today

Went to the copy shop and made a fresh supply of my brew sheet. Because my sheet is actually a sheet. Of paper. I know, heads of millennials and engineers exploding.

Anyone put themselves into "self isolation"?

Sounds like you're being prudent. As our state health director has been saying, don't call a doctor or go to the ER for symptoms you wouldn't have given a second thought six months ago. But limiting your activity at this point is reasonable and responsible.

    Homemade Bread Thread

Spent grain bread (Treberbrot in German) does use it as a addition, like other soaked grains or seeds you might add. It can be pretty rough and chewy as is, but you can also dry it in the oven and grind it into a flour. There are plenty of resources on making this kind of bread. You don't...

    Intertap beer faucets

Umm... they're not trying to make faucets, but locks.

Ha! Good one. You'd appreciate the slogan of a local business, Big Tom's Plumbing and Drain: "A straight flush beats a full house."

So we'll have a lot more time for this for a while. We can live with that.

    Random Picture Thread

Might have been on a different forum... but that's about what I said yesterday. If you're stunned by what's happening to your portfolio, but believe in buying the dip, find out who makes bidets... although the probable customer base for bidets currently has a 12.5 year supply of TP in their...

What I did for beer today

I just got a chuckle from the idea of a grain farmer mowing the lawn.

How to prepare for a wee rough ride...?

Probably also good for scraping zombie remains off your hood and windshield if you make it through. So still seasonal.

How to prepare for a wee rough ride...?

I probably would have added more to the problem by buying another sack, but wisely checked first to find that Lowe's is out of gamma lids (hoarders gotta keep the TP dry.) @day_trippr, good to see you looking more like yourself again.

Which Aldi Beers are good enough that you wish you could clone them?

The Wernesgrüner at ALDI stores here comes not only in brown bottles but only in six packs in the full wrap-around cardboard carriers, so they are fairly well protected. I can see singles right up against the lights in the case getting skunked. Thanks to @ebbelwoi for pointing out that it's...

How to prepare for a wee rough ride...?

Stopped into LHBS today. They're getting slammed with people stocking up. Guy told me about one woman who put in an order and requested next day air. She lives 7 miles from the shop. How is that supposed to work? Bet she's got a $#!? load of toilet paper, too.
  19. Robert65

Yeah, But I Got The Toilet Paper

I always enjoy reading your posts about what you do. I may not participate in the whole process, but I am incurably curious (and appreciative) about how everything in the world works, how the things I depend on come to be here. Heck, that's how I ended up a homebrewer! And I always pictured...

Which Aldi Beers are good enough that you wish you could clone them?

Wernesgrüner is in brown bottles, so skunking isn't an issue. But it is a good idea to pull from the bottom and loom at the date. Most imports around here are pretty old.
