Refrigerator. Typically the bottom where you have slightly colder temps. You can't freeze yeast unless you use glycerin.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

My club did an experiment comparing a full boil and partial boil beer. The difference was striking. So much so that I haven't topped off my fermentor since.

keggle to plate chiller - connection question

I was thinking about buying of amazon too but I have to get the thing that allows me to connect the thermometer to the Tee from the brewhardware site anyways. It is $17 on there so rather than pay shipping both places, I'm just going to pay the extra couple bucks and get it from brewhardware.

keggle to plate chiller - connection question

I looked at the one they listed and it says it reads in like 6 to 8 sec. Thermoworks has a similar one that reads a bit faster for a few bucks more. Have you looked at that one?

So that 5" stem is a good length? Can any digital thermometer that is similar work or is there something particular about that brand? Thanks for the idea on this!

keggle to plate chiller - connection question

So piece by piece I'm slowly getting there. Got some used kegs, drilled them out, got a SS bulkhead kit with a SS valve and SS camlock coming out of keg. I now have a plate chiller coming in the mail but I need to get some more connectors and tubing so I can actually use it. I really like my...

Thanks for the offer but I moved to Charlotte a few years ago. I would have took you up on that if I was still down there.

Us05 is a great choice. I have heard of some folks using us04 but I understand you need to have the ability to control the fermentation temp to keep it below 68 deg or less (I think it produces some ethers at higher ferm temps which would distract from your malt and hop flavors). I am not...
