Hot side tubing alternatives to silicone.

if its safe for potable water then its fine but only up to the heat rating. if i recall, pex is usually only rated for like 180f. so not really fully usable for brewing. also, its not flexible at all compared to normal brew tubing like silicone, vinyl, etc. and pex al specifically...

Troubleshooting Leaking Duotight Flow Control QDs

It doesn’t happen alot, but when it does it’s pretty disastrous, at least on the liquid side. Clips are cheap insurance.

    Cooling fermentor with keezer

The old one is a 5 cu ft model, so smaller than the new one. Fits an all-rounder fermenter, 6.5 carboy, etc., but only 2 kegs at time on floor and a smaller 2.5 to 3gal keg on the hump. But you can also avoid going with small kegs and get some of those oxebar plastic kegs for fairly cheap...

RAPT portal + Brewzilla 4 issues, questions, complaints, etc

oh man, i cant tell you how many emails it took back and forth with their development team to finally get some alerts working. it was pretty horrible. but we did end up figuring it out, and yes, its totally non-intuitive. you essentially had to break each brewing step down into like 5...

    Cleaning sanke d kegs

that will definitely work. long story short, the issue is that the holes for liquid and gas are pretty small in a sanke coupler. pump pressure will help push liquid in, but the liquid cant leave fast enough so it just builds up and fills the keg. that's why they cycle from liquid, purge...

    Cooling fermentor with keezer

just an FYI- walmart has a 7cu ft frigidaire chest freezer for $159 with free delivery. mine should arrive tomorrow, old keezer goes on craigslist after i make sure it runs fine for a few days. not really a help with your fermentation, but cheap solution for a keezer

It also leaves perfect amount of space to put in plastic retainer/locking clip, make sure tubing can’t pop out accidentally.

    Cleaning sanke d kegs

You’re gonna waste money if you buy it and try to clean. Won’t work. At least, not the way you think it’ll work. All that will end up doing is filling the keg and soaking it with water. you need a pump to spray cleaner, but you also need compressed air/co2 to push it back out. Most...

Troubleshooting Leaking Duotight Flow Control QDs

You’re supposed to push t in as far as it goes, then pull it back out a bit. That sets the second seal. From morebeer product director.

    How to make woodruff syrup?

I would Google translate “traditional woodruff syrup recipe” into German and then search for an easy recipe Online. worst case there’s a few deutch speakers around here you could ask

    Cooling fermentor with keezer

Yes. It’s possible, but under some specific conditions and requires specific equipment, and limited by whatever the main use is, in this case draft beer. I can give you the details if you want, but honestly it’s not worth the trouble. splurge on a glycol unit if you’re ballin, rig a diy...

Thoughts on Whirlpool "Convertible" for Keezer Build

fair enough. are you in a hurry? we got prime day coming up fairly soon, end of summer sales, etc. if you're fine with spending for new, then this sucker seems nice to have the flexiblity, should you decide to use it for non-beer purposes. have seen the upright convertibles, but this is...

Thoughts on Whirlpool "Convertible" for Keezer Build

the problem with what we do to these freezers is that we essentially short cycle them. but the thing is, its not 100% of the time. if the freezer needs to run 5 cycles to get down to temp, then that means 4 cycles were completed and only the 5th was cut short by the temp controller. so...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

i'd be happy to do so. my experience with picnic 2.1 was horrible. damn thing still leaks as soon as you put it on the keg. all i want is just a simple direct tap for a keg so i dont have 20 miles of serving tube making a mess in my keezer. (or 32km for you aussies)

    Cellarscience Baja Experiences

1 pack for 3gal wort at 50F. never took off, even though i rehydrated it in goferm evo protect. on 2nd night aftewards, threw in second pack of yeast, right into fermenter. waited more than 24 hours again to see anything, might have been closer to 48. WTF. regardless of how beer comes out...

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

its been a while, but that sounds familiar. my first couldnt hold pressure at all, as soon as i popped it on the keg it started shooting foam. but the replacement unit leaked from about the same area as yours as best as i recall.

    Picnic Tap 2.1 trouble

I've only bought one, and wont buy another. First time i plugged it in it spit beer out from three places. I checked pressure, looked it over, adjusted, etc. Still shot beer out all over the place. Emailed the dude, got a bunch of BS about how they've sold thousands and never had a leak...
