I have pin locks and I can use the open end of a wrench to get the posts off. I believe it's a 13/16.

It's a two pieced lid that doesn't seem to seal very well. I can see steam coming out of the cracks when I pour in my strike water.

I'd rather not wrap it in a blanket. Although that does work really well. Looks like I'm making a styrofoam lid. Thanks, fellas.

I'm currently mashing in a rectangular cooler that loses about five degrees over an hour long mash. I know most of the heat is coming out the top. Is there any reason why I cant make a lid out of Styrofoam so long as it doesn't come in contact with the mash?

Yeah, I just used my Barley Crusher for the first time today and got 83% efficiency with the factory setting. Never got close to that with the crush from the LHBS. Of, course the only problem with that is the possibility of a 6.8% ABV Pale Ale! :cross:

I'm an APA kinda guy. Little hoppy, little malty, crisp and delicious!

Brewed up a Pale Ale today. Temp was 9* with a -4 windchill when I started. Warmed up to about 30* though. Turned out to be a pretty good day to brew!
