Rum cubes go in which batch?

I would put them in the Dubbel. It might blend well with the character from dark candi syrups if you used any.

    Craft beer has officialy died

I think they are kind of making fun of themselves with the name. Even they must know it was an awful song.

    Adventures in Homebrewing?

These are my LHBS. Both stores are great. Taylor is smaller than Ann Arbor, which is huge, but they both carry the same stuff and have helpful knowledgeable staff.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Hey. Any place that has hot waitresses in tiny skirts and has DRIPA on tap is a winner in my book.

    One beer, two yeasts?

I agree. While I don't use WLP007 in my English styles ( I like Wyeast 1469 for those) it is fantastic in American IPAs. Its just a touch fruity and makes a nice change from the Chico strain.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I'm proud to say that I have drank beer in McDonalds in Germany. And it was Bitburger. Good beer and awful burgers.

    2006 Chimay Grande Reserve Value?

Why would you ever sell it? Have some friends over, pop that cork and enjoy.

I have not sanitized any thing for the last 4 months!!!

That and they creep the hell out of me. I kill at least a couple a week in my house.

    Top 3 Underrated Beers?

I don't know anybody that doesn't like Prima Pils.

    east coast beer

I just had a friend bring some beer back from Florida so its fresh in my mind. Jai Alai is great if its fresh. Make sure you check the dates. Maduro is a great brown ale. And keep an eye out for anything from the humidor series. I have only had Saison Helene from Saint Somewhere but it was...

Stuck on island... only 2 beers

Girardin Gueuze 1882 (black label). Easily my favorite gueuze. Khunhenn DRIPA so I can get my hop fix.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I don't doubt that people love it. I also can't stand Choklat or Creme Brulee from Southern Tier. Some beers are just too sweet. I probably should give Speedway another shot though. I seem to remember it having a really nice coffee flavor.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

IPA, Wee Heavy, Horny Devil and Speedway Stout. I honestly don't remember much about the IPA but the other 3 were way too sweet. I actually liked the taste of Speedway Stout but couldn't drink more than a few oz. The other 2 were just awful.

You guys do realize... (overhyped beers)

That'd just another myth. Bottle conditioning adds carbonation and not much else. The difference is nonexistent to negligable.

    Top 3 Underrated Beers?

    1. Ayinger Altbiarisch Dunkel. Probably my favorite German beer. 2. Poperinge Hommelbier. I never hear anybody talk about this delicious hoppy golden ale. 3. Short's Huma Lupa Licious. It never seems to get the love that other IPAs get and its a go to for me.

    Saison using wine yeast

Most wine strains are incapable of fermenting maltotriose and have difficulty with maltose. You would end up with a very sweet beer. There are ways to deal with this though. I recommended listening to an episode if The Brewing Network's Sunday Session from 11/23/08. The interviewed Shea...
