If you haven't found one yet, check out my SSBrewtech unitank. It's an upgrade over the spike. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/660549/

Nevermind, it is available again. He backed out. Wife said no.

Pennsylvania SSBrewtech 14 Gallon Unitank Conical with FTSS Chiller/Heater

I am selling my very lightly used Unitank. This is the 14 gallon version and it will include everything that came with it stock from SSbrewtech. I also have the leg extensions and casters with it as well as a FTSs extension cable for the pump. I have brewed about 5 batches in it and it is in...

Pennsylvania Tri Clamp Quick Clean Ball Valves - 5 available

I have 5 quick clean ball valves for sale. Used for about 5 brew sessions each. These sell for $40 new on Brewers Hardware. I am looking for $30 each. That is a 25% savings off new. I will ship them if buyers pays cost. Best bet is likely a USPS flat rate box due to the weight. Paypal, Zeale, or...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I'm thinking of selling my 14 gallon SS Unitank and buying a 15 gallon Brewer's Hardware jacketed Conical. Other than the price increase, is there any reason I shouldn't do it? I don't like the cooling coil on the SS tank at all.

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I think it's an inherent shortcoming of using a coil instead of a jacketed fermenter. I have a great deal of difficulty getting mine under 40 degrees with a 12 gallon batch in my 14 gallon unitank. I ended up having to drop my glycol temperature underneath 28 by a good bit in order to get there...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

I just moved a 12 gallon batch of a Czech pilsner lager to kegs, second keg only filled about 4 gallons. I couldn't imagine I took that many samples but nothing else was coming so not sure what I did wrong. Just opened up the fermenter to clean it for the next batch, the coils have a massive...

Doubling Down: SS Brewtech Conical + FTSS + Glycol Power Pack

If you don't have a cover on your container, I would cover it with plastic wrap and tape that airtight.

Which chiller do you have and what ratio of glycol did you use

It works, you need to be a lot colder though on the glycol. I found success at 14 degrees F.
