    getting high gravity

No I mean I care about flavor. I just am not the one to try for the perfect brew each and every time. I like what I make. It has a really strong flavor I just wanted to shoot for a "knock your socks off" abv. :)

    getting high gravity

So far I have pretty much followed instructions that come with kits and such. I just made a batch of ale that called for adding 2.2lbs of dme. I added 3lbs instead. Im assuming this is why I eneded up with 1055 og. Its been 5 days and now its down to 1010. So this should give me about 5.6 to 5.7...

    foaming airlock???

Thats the odd thing. I just made the same batch a month ago with no issues. Temp at 72° constant. I believe it is different yeast and that may be the cause. I dunno. I just hope its not some freaked out spoiled brew

    foaming airlock???

I have brewed several batches of beer and yesterday I just threw together a premixed kit where it all came in one can and I just needed to add 2.2 lbs of dme. I added 3lbs total as I have done so before. Mixed the yeast in some luke warm water and mixed it in. Covered the 5 gallon container and...

    caffeine not coffee

Yeah. That liquid caffeine site is what I was looking for. I need to do a whole lot of reading on this though. Looks like its pretty easy to OD if not measured right. Lol. Not making a 4loco but a regular ale with caffeine. I habe a blonde it make first then might get a cheap premix to try it in.

    caffeine not coffee

Anyone know a good way of adding caffeine to beer without using coffee? I want a beer with a kick of caffeine without having a coffee taste. Ale not lager.

    yeast in my bottle

Ok, so I brew. I never do a secondary. I brew for a week or so, then bottle. Great tasting beer. But, I always have yeast at the bottom of my bottle. Is this to be expected? How can I prevent this at all? Is that possible or just get used to it? I don't really care because it tastes great...

    2 liter plastic bottles

I havent read or seen anywhere about anyone using a 2 liter plastic pop bottle to use for bottling. Was wondering if it was anything to try or if there were problems with it. Has anyone read or tried doing this? Pop is carbonated as much as beer soni would think it would work but dont want to...

    72 hours and nothing...

Ive only been brewing since christmas but always have at least 5 gallons on the go. I used to get kits but now make my own mixtures of brew. Thru the batches I have made I do get the best results by starting the yeast before mixing rather than dropping it right in. It starts fermentation faster...
