Why do you homebrew? Are people nuts?

I started homebrewing because I found myself watching way too much tv, and complaining there was nothing on to watch. So I thought I would see if I could make beer. The time I'm making beer, I can't watch tv. Since starting last July, I found I do enjoy it. The beer is so much better than...

Are You Having Problems with Mold/Mildew in Your Keezer?

i use "dri splendor", it is a silica gel, used for drying flowers. its pretty much the same stuff that is in the little packets when you buy new clothes, or bags of jerky. It works like damp rid, but it reuseable. It has blue pieces that turn pink telling you it has absorbed as much as it can...

i've got a 15" hinged false bottom from jaybird. i used it for 2 brews (extract w/ specialty grains) this past weekend, and it kept alot of the junk out. I only had 20 ounces left in the keggle, whereas the prior 2 brewing sessions, using a scrubby i had to siphon the wort out as the siphon...

Pros and Cons Bottling vs Kegging...

    1. 5 and 20 lbs 5lbs fits into keezer, but it only cost $1 more to fill the 20lber, I believe it is said to be able to push 4-5 kegs, however it does vary as to frequency and method of cleaning, force carbonating. Co2 flows the same as air going into your car tire, it is faster at first, but...

Harvesting yeast from the bottom of a keg?

    Electric HLT ground question

You could just run the ground wire to the piping for the valve that drains the hlt, if it is metal. Depending on piping location vs element location, it may not be as visually appealing tho.

    natural carbonation methods for kegging

I have searched and read quite a bit of info on force carbing a keg. However, I would like to naturally carb in a keg. The only method i seem to find is to: Put beer in keg, add 2.5 ounces priming sugar, top off with about 15 psi co2 then let it set at room temps for about 3 weeks...
