    America's Cup Anyone?

For most of the races so far - 3-4 minutes of excitement at the start, then follow the leader. I'll watch it all but it is pretty boring.

Will there be human footprints on Mars by 2040? If so, who will have done it?

What if all our attempts to contact another sentient civilization brings conquerors to our world??

Name That Skyline - Picture Game

You got it. Really nice park and lighthouse with a small museum. You're up D.B.Moody

Name That Skyline - Picture Game

Time for a hint: It has the same name as the State Park that it is in.

    Why I do secondary fermentation

I agree with this. I do a little longer primary - 3 to 4 weeks then package it, wait the 3 1/2 months then enjoy a properly aged beer.

    Why I do secondary fermentation

It's great that it works for you. I get clear beer without the extra step. For me it does not make sense to do a secondary, and I avoid the probability of oxidizing my beers. I suggest that most people should try to eliminate the secondary since the reward is minimal and the risks are fairly...

    Equipment upgrade time!

My list is empty for now. I have everything I need for the foreseeable future. As I said I have the Unibrau 110v system so I have no need for any electrical upgrades. You do have to plug into 2 separate circuits though or it will draw too much power and (hopefully) trip the breaker if plugged...

    Equipment upgrade time!

You don't have enough funds, but to go electric you don't need to update your wiring. I bought the Unibrau and it does fine on 2 circuits of 110 volts. Of your list: none of those items would be on mine. For your system I would ditch one of the Igloo coolers and get a second propane burner...

    Pipe smoking, a lost art.

Never was a pipe smoker. I like the smell from a pipe. I can handle the smell from cigars. I stopped smoking them because I hated the taste in my mouth the next day. I absolutely despise the smell of cigarette smoke. It smells like death. I'm glad I quit when they got too expensive. A tax...

At what point do hoppy beers start to have oxidation issues?

I would say that more dry hops = more effect due to oxidation. The opportunity does not change.

    Stuck Fermentation

Just saying that just because a program says you should reach a certain final gravity doesn't mean it will or even that you want it to.
  17. kh54s10

    Stuck Fermentation

Well as I originally said there are many things that change the fermentability of the wort, so any predictions are just that.
  18. kh54s10

    Stuck Fermentation

Actually they do. The recipe (fermentables) establishes the OG. Then the calculations go from there.
  19. kh54s10

    Stuck Fermentation

Final gravity predictions are just that. Predictions. They are calculations based on fermentables and the reported attenuation. Many things can change the real attenuation. For that style of beer I would not think 1.027 to be very far off. Taste it.
