    Anyone brewing on fathers day?

Here in the states its fathers day, so I figured Ill bring some of my equipment home and brew a half batch IPA with my dad. I've always found homebrewing to be a great male bonding experience. Just wondering if anyone else made any sort of plans like this for fathers day?

I have a new favorite beer

I went to high school right next door to that place, its real nice. Whenever they are brewing, the smell would just waft through the entire campus, it was great! I am a huge fan of the new Lake Erie Monster, look out for it, its their summer seasonal.

    twist top bottles

You can always tell your friends that you are looking for bottles. I usually tell them that if they rinse out their bottles for me that I will refill them and give them some beer, plenty of people would jump on that opportunity. :mug:

    twist top bottles

I wouldnt suggest re-using caps. I have heard that its too difficult to use a wing capper with twist top bottles, but that bench cappers can handle them.

    Johnny Jump Up Cider

I made this a few weeks ago and it is quite delicious! Just gotta watch out cause it will get you! As for carbing, since it is a dry cider, you should have no problem with cause when I made it the FG was plently low

    Mr. Beer Octoberfest enhancement

I got a Mr. Beer kit for christmas and have since upgraded to my 6.5 gal setup. The other day I realized that I still have one more of those hopped liquid malt can things for the mr. beer. I have read on the forums that people use DME instead of that booster which sounds like a great idea. Just...

Cider / Brewing virgin! please help!

I usually use a 50/50 split of white sugar and brown sugar. For me, it gives it a bit more flavor. Other than that, everything sounds good, just be as clean as possible! :mug:

If you have teenagers you need to try this!

Its funny because lots of teenagers use this as their ringtone so they can text in class and the teachers usually can't hear it.

    Johnny Jump Up Cider

Got a gallon of fresh pressed cider from an orchard at home, so I'm gonna scale this down for that. One question I have tho, I read elsewhere that adding fresh apples in the secondary could add some extra flavor and possibly some sweetness. What does everyone else think about this?

Cider Recipe Needed- 1 gallon with hint of sweet and apple

Homebrew cider is actually how I started into homebrewing (I am still a n00b, but have a little experience). Cider is the easiest thing to make. In the fall, I found a place that sells fresh apple cider by the gallon, added some sugar for sweetness and alcohol, pitched the yeast and two weeks...

Ideas and Suggestions for a Summer Beer?

A bit of a build on the pale ale suggestion, brew a pale ale, but then when bottling, make a shandy! Add some fresh lemon/lime juice, zest, anything. Has anyone tried this, Ive been thinking about trying this for my next brew.

    Bottling and aging questions

When I made my cider, I used champagne yeast. That seemed to give it a slight carbonation, kinda like it was slightly sparkling.
