Sanitising a Counter Pressure bottle filler?

Yea I was trying to figure out a stand as well. Sommbeer has a tutorial for how to make one and use one. It looks like a good solution. https://sommbeer.com/build-adjustable-height-stand-mounted-counterpressure-bottle-filler/ I have a tall chamber for My fastferment next to my bottling counter...

Sanitising a Counter Pressure bottle filler?

Did you ever figure this out? Also how do you like using this bottle filler? I just bought one identical to it. Thanks, Lorne

    Cold Crashing Temps

Thanks all. I already left for work. So I didn't get a chance to move it back inside. So I will leave it and rack it in garage after work. Thanks, Lorne

    Cold Crashing Temps

One last question, I’m kegging my beer tonight. Should I leave the fermenter where it is in the garage and rack to keg from there? Or should I move it back inside where I typically rack? Will the yeast get disturbed if the beer warms up today if I move it Thanks, Lorne

    Ok cool. Thanks.

    Cold Crashing Temps

OK, so now the temperature in the garage is 31.8°. Should I be concerned? Should I move my fermentation into the basement again? I’m kegging tomorrow as a reminder.

    Cold Crashing Temps

My fermentation vessel is the FastFerment and a tank! Not sure how I can get it to fit in a cooler :(. I did make this for my chamber. How can I add to it to get it to control temperature? https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/son-of-a-fastferment-chamber.575923/ Got any ideas without...

    Cold Crashing Temps

Probably because it was nearly 60F yesterday. Haha. Gotta love Denver. Gonna be 60 again on Thursday. So it must have retained that heat from the day. Right now it’s 35.7F in garage and it’s 13F outside. Hopefully it stays at 35! That’s perfect for cold crashing right? Thanks, Lorne

    Cold Crashing Temps

Hello there, I am cold crashing my NEIPA in my garage. I typically brew in basement around 60-65F. But I decided to cold crash this because of all the hops it has. I live in Denver and the temps tonight will be in the teens. Is there an issue if the Temps fall below 30 degrees while cold...

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Thanks for the response @triethylborane. I agree we need more snow. Especially the mountains!! So it’s in the garage now and the fermentation chamber is in the basement. Are you saying I should move to the basement rather than be in 16F tonight in garage? My garage is NOT insulated. Thanks, Lorne

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

So now that the weather in Denver is snow with a high of 26 and a low of 16 tomorrow, is that too cold to crash in garage? I put it out there last night. My guess my garage will be about 20-30F tomorrow. I was going to keg on Tuesday evening because I’m unable to tomorrow night as planned. My...

    To bottle or to keg?

When I switched to kegging. My beer was noticeably better tasting! I rarely bottle now. So I recommend kegging I this is a hobby you’ll be doing for years to come. HTH, Lorne

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

So I just added my second round of dry hops. I went ahead and swapped out the collection ball on my FastFerment. So I guess technically I'm in secondary now. Then I always fill the ball up with CO2 so all the air going up to the top is gas and not air. But when I opened the top of the Fast...

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Stupid question, should i cold crash where i plan to siphon to the keg? Will moving it from my garage back to basement bring all the hops back into the beer? Thanks, Lorne

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Thanks for the reply. So should I just leave my hopper that’s already in there and then throw the other pellets straight into fermenter? Also, What does “fwiw“ mean?

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Thanks guys, I will follow these guide lines. I typically am in my fermenter for 3-4 weeks in primary. I guess NEIPA is a bit different! I put my dry hops in on Thursday. So looks like I need to dry hop my second batch tonight! Then I will put in garage for cold crash for 2 days. Ok I...

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Copy that. I guess I’ll cold crash then! One last question. Based on the recipe how long should I ferment? It doesn’t tell me. It only says dry hops three days in and dry hop four days remaining. How much time in between?!

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

Glad to see a fellow Denver homebrewer! If I cold crash will it take the Haze out of my “hazy” ipa?

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

I live in Denver. So it's cold at night. But it's currently in my basement. So if I dump trub you recommend i do it right before kegging? It's super easy to do anytime and as many timesDas i need to with my FastFerment. My dry hops are in a dry hopper so we are good there. Thanks, Lorne

Tropic Haze DNEIPA - Secondary needed? Tons of hops residue, how to remove?

I don't cold crash. My FastFerment is in a box with insulation (see my plans here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/son-of-a-fastferment-chamber.575923/). I don't have a refrigerant connected or anything. I guess i could throw a bunch of buckets of ice in? Would that make it cold...
