Looks like it will end up being a tasty pale. The only thing that I would do would be add a dryhop addition. Then you end up getting the full range (profile) that the hops have to offer. Cheers

The hose is fine. Let the oxy clean do its work and then just give it a good rinse. The residue is not that persistent; a few good rinses with the hose will be fine.

The method you described would work, especially if you make a starter prior to the next brew. If you search "yeast washing" or look at the sticky in the yeast forum I think you will find what you are looking for. Cheers

The two yeast strains you reference are the same strain just packaged differently by differently companies. Wyeast 1056 is also the same. Brew away!

Drhops - In an effort to keep things straight, there seem to be two different black pumps. There is the $75ish pump from US Solar and there is the $19ish dollar pump from China. The Chinese pump has an exposed magnet which may or may not be a large cause for concern. The US Solar pump seems fine...

I might try to get the desired bitterness at the first addition and leave all flavor and aroma additions out to not subtract from what you are trying to accomplish. Just a thought.
