    "True" Sparge Volume.

We use BeerSmith3 and know some "WAG" stuff about Batch Sparge Volume. We use BruControl (@BrunDog) to automate our Brewery. It is fairly easy to control the Flow of your Brew Day and also fill the Mash Tun with close to a desired volume of Sparge Water. Our Mash Tun has ZERO dead space...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I thought I had tried that but like I had tried /n in lieu of \n maybe. Works like a champ! Thanks.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

@BrunDog Is there any way to add a line feed into a global element value inside a string? I have tried Char 11 , Shift + Enter" u+2209 and they do not work as strings.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I would create global string to save the disconnect message . I think you need two separate scripts, one for each interface and put the disconnect message in that global string. It would be nice if there was a way to insert a line feed into a global string. I would put a wait at the end of...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

A Big THANKS to @RiverCityBrewer @CDCTx @Tartan1 WE HAVE NODE RED UP AND RUNNING. I am still in the process of creating "our" BeerSmith3 xml to BruControl using our Global Elements. I understand Node Red much better now and have transferred data from BruControl using Node Red and transferred...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Solved!!! @BrunDog Perhaps this could be fixed in the program so that user names with spaces do not matter. I found most of the solution with this post but found I needed to run PowerShell in admin mode...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Trying to get back into node red. I am having an issue with the service in BruControl. When I go to Setting . Data Exchange the service is stopped. I have tried rebooting and clicking the buttons on the dialog, but the service does not start. I left the port as 8000 I click the Reserve...

Help with Sizing - Oetiker (Ear Clamps) with Eva Barrier Tubing

It is important to measure the tubing "ON" the barb. I forgot that little fact and have a bunch of clamps that are too small. You want the clamp to slide over the tubing while installed on the barb. I find that putting the tubing in hot water makes them much easier to put on.

Maximum Different Hops During Boil Poll

I did not notice it came in order. That would make the grouping easier. But I do not think I would ever use more than 5 different Hops during the Boil. In fact, I think 4 is the maximum we have ever used.

Hopefully I finally solved my chilling concerns

I was worried about the "cleaniness" of a Plate Chiller as well, but we clean it for at least an hour with PBW after a brew and sanitize with 185 degree water for 45 minutes during a brew, We have not had any issues for years.

Help with Sizing - Oetiker (Ear Clamps) with Eva Barrier Tubing

Get a cheap ($19) micrometer. https://www.harborfreight.com/painting/measuring-marking/calipers-micrometer/6-in-digital-caliper-with-sae-and-metric-fractional-readings-63731.html measure your tubing. The measurement "9.2 - 10.9mm" means that it will work on anything between those two...

Two words: Plate Chiller We did the two coils years ago. Moving to a Plate Chiller was way better.

Maximum Different Hops During Boil Poll

I am in the process of trying to auto order Hops in the BruControl software, This is a fun challenge for me and of course I could do it manually, but where is the fun in that? From BeerSmith, you can bring over 8 hops. This may not be a limit but the Node Red code (@RiverCityBrewer ) we have...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Don’t do any google searches for that. You may no longer carry a phone!

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I have one of those "jet" propane heaters. About 30 minutes and ready to go. In the 21 event (- F for a week), my only water was melted snow heated by wood fire for my cows. I needed the tractor bucket for the snow and to melt to water. They drank about 10 gallons a day, That is a lot...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Anyone who has worked on a farm knows what a cold battery means! I was just out heating the battery of my tractor to get it to turn over (and use some power to heat the diesel). One of my issues beside range, is size. We carry up to 7 on some trips (two small ones) but 5 adult size and...

    First timer

The "How to Brew" is the primer for brewing beer. Some of it is outdated (hot side aeration _DON"T Stir the WORT!) but a really good book and FREE!

I remember chunky 5 mph bumpers. Bring those back and the cost would have been $0! Gas or EV.

    First timer

It is good to have an extra hydrometer. I don't know how many we have broken over the years but more than one. You need to get the "O.G" {Original Gravity} after the Boil (Extract or ALL Grain} at the beginning of Fermentation, We always take a sample right before I put in the Yeast. Your...
