    Grain Mill

I was wondering about that, but have seen a lot of comments around the web that their drills burnt up doing so. Wonder how real that is?

    Grain Mill

Looking at purchasing the Kegco KM11GM-3R Grain Mill with 11 lb. Hopper and 3 Rollers, but also need a motor for it. Are there any out there for under $50 that would work with this mill? If so, does anyone recommend any specific motors? Thanks in advance.

    Kettle Port Configuration

Excellent! Thanks again, Bobby. The knowledge and suggestions are greatly appreciated! (and putting up with all the questions even more so!!!)

    Kettle Port Configuration

So, in your GIF, as pertains to the BK and the HLT whirlpools, they are mere inches apart. Will that generate enough "mixing" action or do we simply only care about whirlpool and not a constant recirculation throughout the entire volume of the kettle (especially when it comes to uniform...

    Kettle Port Configuration

A few more questions... Wouldn't I want to feed the herms coil (and the cooling coil for that matter) from the top down so as to reduce the resultant pressure against the pumps? Like this (gold arrows)? In addition, I've been thinking about the incorporation of a grant between the MLT and the...

    Kettle Port Configuration

Well, dang. Didn't even think about the heating element interfering with the trub cone. Looks like I need to decide upon a circular heating element. Just wondering if I can find an element with at least 5,500 watts that will fit the diameter of the kettle and spaced about an inch from the kettle...

    Kettle Port Configuration

View from the top... Please note, the pick-up tubes are not visible because they're under the cooling coil, sparge arm, and herms coil respectively.

    Kettle Port Configuration

Here's what I have planned... All fluid transfer connections are positioned at zero degrees at the front of the kettles, while the heating elements are positioned at 135 degrees (BK) and at -135 degrees (HLT). Does it make a difference as to the positioning of the fluid transfer connections...

    3 Vessel 16 Gallon Configuration

Thanks for the link to the calculators, Rob! Cheers!

    3 Vessel 16 Gallon Configuration

So, I inherited, then modified this system. It came to me with three 16 gallon vessels, each with two ports near the bottom; the higher of the two for a physical analog thermometer and the lower for a ball valve. I added 240v 5500w ripple elements via 1-1/2" tri-clamp bulkheads, HERMS coils...

    Cheers to all! :bigmug:

    Pump configuration

This way instead of having the exit port pointing straight up? Thanks again.

    Pump configuration

I guess I just can't wrap my head around this statement. How the heck can I, "...turn the whole thing around and use the other end of the motor shaft..."? Or, was this statement just to prove that if you were able to use the other end of the motor shaft, the rotation direction would be the...

    Pump configuration

So, these pump motors can turn the impellers either direction? It's not a "all pumps turn impellers clockwise" thing?

    Pump configuration

So, according to BYO's pump position diagram, it shows the exit port to the left...and with reference to this pump, would the pump head being positioned in an opposite configuration impede the flow at all? Assuming all pump impellers rotate clockwise, I would think having the exit port to the...

    Is this safe?

Sorry, kinda missed that little important fact, eh? :p I utilize an [EBC-350] for the rig. Thanks again.

    Is this safe?

The 6500w element is a ripple element and identical to [THIS ONE] except for the fact that it is 6500w instead of 5500w. Thanks again.

    Is this safe?

I'm currently finishing up a 20gal eherms system... Controller: 240 volt, two 30 amp breakers for elements, two 15 amp breakers for pumps Connection: Dedicated 240 volt, 60 amp breaker in panel Elements: 204 volt 6500 watt With this setup, will both elements be able to be powered on...

    Part needed...

Ok. Now that I know what they're actually called, I found many around the net. Unfortunately, the least expensive of them was around $75, so I guess I'm going to stick with MMP's suggestion of the ball valve type of assembly. Thanx again, all!
