Yep...it happens. I've had all kinds of mishaps. I think pouring a batch down the drain is the worst though. Half way through that keg with your properly functioning new regulator you'll forget it ever happened. Cheers!

I didn't have a gasket/washer between the regulator and tank once. It made for erratic readings on the hi-pressure gauge.

I am sure someone can help you with that recipe, however if I'm not mistaken I think you can still buy Hamm's . I'm sure I ran across it not that long ago.

I have always enjoyed the brewing network. I can't speak regarding their customer service . My only criticism is that the language and humor at times has made it impossible to listen to the show with my family roaming about nearby. Not a big deal I just listen when I'm by myself .
