What is the most useful Brewing item you own?

For me the most important thing is also something I don't own. Its something I didn't know I was going to need so bad till I used my friends, a wort chiller. It sucks and isn't even effective to just the sang sink full of ice water to chill down the wort. I plan on building myself one in the...

    Pulled pork for 40?

I would add to the weight you are going to start with if its the only meat that's going to be there. Like 1.2 lbs per person maybe even as high as 1.5 lbs. I say this cuz I cook pulled pork for our parties and if I didn't add the. 2 or. 5 it won't even make it around. I only have a small...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I've only done 5 gallon batches so far. I'm going to shoot for a 3 gallon batch. I'm not trying to prime in it just use it for a secondary after most of the active fermenting is done. I'm tossing around ideas right now of a big billed beer that's oaking in the secondary, so I think it would be...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

So I got a question, the 3 gallon water bottle I saw at walmart earlier, can I use it for a secondary? I have a food grade 5 gallon I'll prime in and the transfer to secondary in there? I guess two questions, anyone else use them? How to tell if safe?

Got free bottles to give away? Post 'em here!

I tried to do that 3 places here in Colorado springs.....nope. Lucky I drink and save all of them. Plus I have friends. Always have my eyes one for them though.

Any reason I can't just throw my Cacao nibs in the primary?

I have a chocolate raspberry stout in secondary I added extract and nibs in when I transferred. If I didn't secondary it I would have waited til after the first week or so. I'm not sure how though cuz I really wanted it mixed in . Are you going to stir it all in? Is messing with the yeast cake...

What u wish u had known

I wish I would have known years ago how easy homebrew is. I wish I would have known how easy all grain is. I wish I wasn't so cheap and bought a bigger brew pot. A lot bigger.

    What are you drinking now?

What cigar? If I didn't brew inside cigars would be part of my brew night but I brew in the house so no-go there.

    Suggest a dark beer.

Old ras. is kinda watery in my opinion. I enjoy stouts and porters on the thicker side.

    Suggest a dark beer.

Left-hand milk stout is awesome. Youngs double chocolate stout. Both come straight to mind.

Does all grain brewing become expesive

I know I'm new to the all grain setup. I have only actually done one beer using all grain and that beer is in the secondary still, for me I don't think its going to be more money per bottle. I honestly can say I don't even factor in the costs of making the beer. I really enjoy knowing I brewed...

    multi purpose yeast

I am kinda all over the place with beers I like so I'm going to stock pile as I go. Like right now I bottled a American light from a kit on Saturday and on Tuesday I transferred my first allgrain chocolate raspberry stout to the secondary. This month has been a great beer month for me.
