    Galaxy IPA Recipe Help

About a year ago I had my first experience with Galaxy hops. It was a Galaxy Imperial Single Hop IPA from Hill Farmstead http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22511/67760 I was completely blown away with this beer and have since hunted out other beers displaying this wonderful hop. I am...

I just bought the true brew Gold kit 2 stage fermentation, and this is my first time.

Don't sweat it. Single stage fermentation is all you need. 3-4 weeks with some decent temp control will be all you need. Some people rack to a secondary but its not always necessary. Good luck and happy brewing

    northern brewer kit

This is the same kit I got over the summer. It gives you everything you need and a little more to get started. My only recommendation would be not to use the sanitizer that comes with it and use either iodophor or san star. happy brewing :mug:

    BIAB grain bag

I am trying to transition from extract to all grain brewing. I figured a nice place to start would be the BIAB method before investing in some new equipment. I recently bought a 15 gallon mega pot and was wondering what size grain bag do people use and where do they find them online? This...

    Ferment temp?

Your best bet would be to look up the yeast strand that came with the kit online. Sometimes (not always) Belgium yeast can ferment a slightly higher temp. Good luck with the brew :)

    First beer questions

    1. you should be fine with 2 6.5 gallon buckets. If given the choice a 5 gallon bucket would be better to reduce the amount of head space but the 6.5 gallon bucket will be fine. Many people on these forums choose to not transfer to a secondary because of added risk or oxidation and infection...
