So I'm all set to do my first brew this weekend and I've been reading Palmers how to brew and he suggest rehydrating the dry yeast packet and the instructions that came with the kit say just to pitch the yeast as is.....any advice or recommendations... Thanks all..!!

Yeah they want $80.00 for the polar ware 10,5 gal on northern and about the same at Walmart, shopko ect but their no 10 gal. So if I can get one cheaper I will otherwise I will prob just wait and order it online.

So I ordered me equipment last night. The northern brewers deluxe starter kit and the mad brewers upgrade kit. The only thing I did not get was the polar ware 10.5 gal pot (swmbo said I'd have to wait on that) so I was wondering if I could just go and buy something at a local store...

@ j187 I totally searched the forum but like you said there is so much on here it was hard to dig thru it all.

I'm going to get the deluxe kit because it seems to have everything I need and it comes with two carboys with a choice of plastic or glass. I'm also getting the mad brewer upgrade kit as well.

Check on the bottles and the water... And the deluxe kit has a choice or recipe kits... I plan on doing the American wheat beer so I believe it will have the hops and the yeast included. This will be my first ever brew so I figured it would be easier to start with a recipe kit and beside its...

I believe the mad brewer upgrade comes with a hydrometer and a book as well. I just want to make sure I get everything I need so once it comes I can start my first batch and not have to go buying items at the last minute.
