Sediment suspended - can i still bottle

Hi there. OK Long story short, i was trying to bottle my batch of beer. It was i a 25l bucket, no tap, so i used a siphon tube - apart from the fact that this new one that arrived (Im at a flat at university - important) had a huge gash in the side and was useless. So, instead, i poured, very...

    Treacle Beer Mistake

ah, see the only "nutrient" available was a teaspoon of Barley Malt extract normally used in baking bread i had lying around that i normally use for making yeast starters. I suppose if the US-05 can get to 12%, i could leave it there instead of letting it get to 14 and have a sweet syrupy beer...

    Treacle Beer Mistake

cool thanks :) Wasnt sure if leaving it on yeast for a month might mean the yeast would autolyse and make the beer taste funny :S Then again, god knows what this will taste like as it was just thrown together and then made twice as sugary by accident XD

    treacle beer mistake

Hey there! I recently made a big batch of beer and had 500g of dark spray malt left over. So, i thought i might as well make a small batch to use it up. I added 1 can (454g) of black treacle and the spray malt to a few litres of water and had a hop bag with my leftover hops in there boiling...

    Beer won't carbonate in keg.

yeah they are but cost about 3 or 4 times as much. I tried a tip a friend gave me, i dumped a sachet of champagne yeast into the beer and resealed it all. It has been VERY happy and in just 2 days i was able to pour a glass with pressure behind it and a nice head. Seems like the yeast from the...

    Beer won't carbonate in keg.

The keg was bought as a pressure beer keg, although without a gas port - the pressure from dispensing comes from the secondary fermentation in the keg itself. The item did come with the option on the website to add a cap with a co2 valve but it was very overpriced (2x the original keg) so i just...

    Beer won't carbonate in keg.

The keg was conditioning around 20C. I was able to see the foam simply through the side - the plastic isn't entierly opaque, being quite a cheap keg, and just shining a light through from the back i could see. My problem is the keg is 25l and so is my fermentation bucket - but 25l in the bucket...

    Beer won't carbonate in keg.

Hi there. I recently made 25l of beer from a brupaks kit. It all went well until i put it into a pressure keg. I added 200g of sugar (too much i know but i misread the label :S) to the keg and siphoned the beer into it after 1 week of fermentation in the bucket. The keg was only about 2/3 full...
