    What's your profession?

I own a cupcake factory in MT and dabble in bit coin. I am thinking of opening a brewery with a good friend!

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

Just spent about $150 on more hardware I didn’t need...but wanted. Going to be awhile more until the savings start!

    Jalapeño beer + plastic fermenter = ?

I just added my “dry pepper” and tincture this morning. Will cold crash in a few days and get this puppy in bottles!

Barley Grinder Crusher Malt from Amazon

No base seems squirrelly to me. Mine came with a nice base. How long have you had it and where did you get it (eg store or private sale)?

Barley Grinder Crusher Malt from Amazon

About 2 years with mine and use a tight gap - zero issues. I’ve probably gone through ~200 pounds of grain so far using a drill. Edit to add: the wood looks pretty beat up. Did you buy this used or something?

    Modified BIAB and LODO

Thanks for the response. The problem I’m seeing is even lowering slowly I seem to always get a big “burp” from the grain bag as well as big dough balls which require stirring (I try to be gentle). I’m just curious what others are seeing/doing.

    Modified BIAB and LODO

I've been playing around with the best way to incorporate LODO into my BIAB set up and 2 areas concern me: adding grains to my strike water and dough balls/stirring; and lifting the bag and letting it drain/splash. As a work around I was thinking of doing something like this: 1) Heat strike...

    Simulating watermelon

I wonder if Kato is the “friend” who’s getting married?

    Anyone making "BRUT" IPA's??

Did you like it enough to brew one yourself?

    Opinions... contaminated keg?

I thought I had a keg leak and sprayed Star San all over the top looking for bubbles (couldn’t find my regular water bottle) and didn’t wipe it off very well. After a few days it looked just like that.

    Simulating watermelon

I bet ol’ smell can “dry jolly” his beer to get a watermelon flavor!!

    Jalapeño beer + plastic fermenter = ?

I decided to just put it in one of my fermonsters and will end up bottling so not worried about the keg set up. I added some roasted peppers to the boil and have a pepper soaking in vodka now, which will all be added to the fermenter as “dry peppering”.

2L Starter - Boiled Down to 1.6 - Oops! OK or Not?

I boil the DME and water together but same principle. Once I see bubbles the stove top is turned off and I put the flask in cold/ice water.

    Anyone brewing on the 4th?

Hope you all had a good brew day and a great 4th of July!

    What are you drinking now?

A Kona Big Wave. This is probably my “go to” Summer beer when I buy beer!

Had A Bottle Bomb what do I do now?

What ever you do I’d wear eye protection, gloves and a long sleeve **** when handling these!

If people insist you add the cost of your time should I also add the cost of this $18 cigar to the cost of this batch? [emoji1]

    Anyone brewing on the 4th?

I had originally planned on an American Wheat with watermelon but the wife vetoed me...said she wanted the jalapeño cream ale instead! Apricot sounds good!

    Jalapeño beer + plastic fermenter = ?

I am getting ready to brew a jalapeño cream ale and started thinking - will this leave a lingering taste in a plastic fermonster? I haven’t brewed a pepper beer in a long while and can’t remember if I used an old bucket and/or if it left an after taste. I guess I could always do a long oxy...

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

I have 2 or 3 buckets and 2 fermonsters but I’m now looking at the SS Brew Bucket BME “just because”. This is why I’ll never save money as a home brewer.
