Name That Skyline - Picture Game

I am not from Edmonton, but I am Canadian. The hotel in the foreground and the snow gave it away. It seems every Canadian city has a hotel like that, plus there aren't many Canadian cities to choose from that size.

    Brew Easier (DIY system)

My next batch I will try the brew and ferment in the Fusti and report back. The valve that came with the Fusti is brutal so I will need to upgrade it first. I ferment all the time in them and love it. Easy to carry and clean. Lid can seal fairly well with the rubber gasket, but I just put the...

    Brew Easier (DIY system)

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to show off my bastardized version of the Brew Easy system. Hopefully some tips from the community can help me make it even better. My goal was to build a system that was easy to step-up, use and clean while still incorporating recirculation. Full automation wasn't...

Brew in a Basket...anybody try one of these?

I had one made for me from the basket of a Bayou Classic 1044. It helps to have a buddy who is a welder for a stainless company. I found mine cleans very easy. In fact, way easier than the bags I was using previously. The sides are mesh but the bottom is perforated. I had no problems with grains...

    Help with Mash Recirculation

I am looking to build a recirculating system. I was wondering if something like this could be used if it was welded to the top of my lid. I can see a problem maybe with wort shooting upwards, but figured this could be controlled by the amount of flow I allow. Thoughts...

    BIAB using Gas and Electric

Does anyone mash with a with an electric element and then boil using gas? Currently I just heat up my water on the gas stove and shut it off, mash, then boil. Not very precise or controlled. My plan was to introduce the Brau Mini with a 1500w element to help maintain the temp while...

    SS Basket: Mesh or Perforated?

I am making a SS mesh basket from my Bayou Classic 44 basket. Will this mesh work or should I go finer? I get confused with all the sizes. $75 for 5 sq. ft. Mesh - 40 x 40 Diameter - 0.010" Opening - 0.0150" I do plan to eventually have a recirculating system. Thanks

    Anyone from Winnipeg out there?

Another Jets fan here. I brew all grain, mosty IPAs and wheats. Started about a year ago and ditched the bottles for a homemade 5 keg keezer. I buy most of my ingredients from Grape and Grain, and most of my hardware from Ontario Beer Kegs.

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

Here is the reply I received from Dave at High Gravity. We rotate the pump head on the motor 90 degrees so that the input is at the low point. With the pump and vessel sitting on the same surface, the input is lower than the vessel output. Gravity helps to prime to pump this way. Sometimes...

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

I have a quick question about the chugger pump. I thought it has to be below the kettle port, but the picture on the website shows it on the counter. I see that the flow from the kettle goes below the pump/kettle. The question I have, once the pump is primed, will it work like this? (sucking...
