Kegerator for $69 - too good to be true?

While the sites are definitely a scam, what is writen above about credit cards and passwords cannot be true. These fake sites all use Shopify (one of the largest ecommerce platforms in the world that allows you to sell online). It's used by millions of sellers around the world, myself included...

Just curious, why? The manufacturer says it's best in warm to hot water. Kal

    Muskoka Detour Clone

Hi everyone! Old thread but came across it when discussing a Muskoka Detour clone with some local brewers looking for a clone I recommend my Electric Pale Ale (sessionable version) - recipe here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27506 It's very similar: Same IBU and...

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Yes, same here. If you don't have multi-point calibration available to make whatever you're using to measure accurate across a range, you're likely going to be limited to being (mostly) accurate around a target temp. For me that most important target temp is mash temp for both my MLT and HLT. Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Again, whether a device (any device) shows you numbers (digital) or a dial (analog) has nothing to do with accuracy. There is nothing that makes "digital" more accurate. It's simply how the number is displayed. Don't confuse accuracy with precision. (You're assuming something precise is...

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Asking again: Have you ever measured with an actual pH meter? You mentioned "digital thermometer". Just because it's digital doesn't mean it's accurate (it's just how the info is displayed). The other poster was wondering if you've actually confirmed the accuracy of your thermometer. Another...

High amount of acid can be perceived as astringent. Have you tried without? Have you ever measured with pH meter? (Spreadsheet estimators are just that: Only estimators). Kal

    DIY Beer Line Cleaner

Same here - no odd smells. Though it's been probably 5-6 years since I bought mine and I no longer use them having moved to pump based cleaning setup (to recirculate continuously clean all 8 taps at once). Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Nope! It was developed by forum member -TH- : https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/members/th.26617/ (The guy at the start of this thread) It's now owned however by culturedmedia.com (who also seem own homebrewtalk.com, brewersfriend.com, etc). Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

It's what the recipe author intended for you to use. The problem is most recipes don't mention, so you have no way of knowing if they meant for that pH to be at room temp, or at mash temp. Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Ok, so I moved a bit around and also added a blurb about the probe electrode lasting longer if you cool the sample first. Hopefully this is clearer: Cheers! Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Yup. It's a common misconception or misunderstanding so that why I included it. I'll have to re-read it however as obviously it's not clear! ;) Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Exactly correct. I believe you may be misreading my guide. Here's a quote from my guide that agrees with you: Kal

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Correct! My guide covers all this in STEP 5 (BREW DAY) here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/water-adjustment?page=7 I describe how the target pH changes if you measure at mash temp. The electrode will not last as long either. That is true. That said, I'm 10 years in now of brewing 10-15...

    EZ Water Calculator 3.0

Yup. While not all RO water is all zeros, that's generally the assumption you should make. If you're looking for a step by step guide to using EZ Water, check out the one I wrote here: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/water-adjustment Good luck! Kal

    PID Alarm Problem

Not sure - I haven't been through this specific manual in detail, but there's probably a way to have it work the way you want to. That said, would it be of any use however? Alarms exist to notify when a threshold is passed, to notify that action is required at the moment the alarm condition...

    PID Alarm Problem

To be clear: - ALM1 will turn on when the temperature (the measured red PV value) passes through the ALM1 value on its way up. - ALM2 will turn on when the temperature (the measured red PV value) passes through the ALM2 value on way down up. Key words are "passes through". Make sure that the...

Double IPA Kern River Citra DIPA

I do, at least for this beer, as there are multiple dry hop additions. Once fermentation is done I rack to a purged brite tank and then start the dry hop additions. Kal
