Creative ways to turn my bottling bucket back to a primary??

Thanks but that is not a concern. It can get kicked or bumped out, and it is difficult to clean. It's just a personal decision for me - I just dont trust them as much as I used to.

dedhedjed - THANKS for the quality recommendation! Can you tell me more about what this item does or how it works please? The description says, "Food grade nylon, custom-molded to include an integral backnut. Keeps beer (and yeast sediment) out of the Transfer Valve during fermentation. Fits our...

Creative ways to turn my bottling bucket back to a primary??

Hi Brew Crew - I did a few searches with no relevant results. I have two bottling buckets that I acquired but I don't do any bottling. Can anyone help me think of a creative way to turn this back into a DEPENDABLE primary? I really want the spigot removed and the hole covered. The...

How 'bout these for grain storage?

He is probably talking about receiving bulk wet food items (think pickles for example). They always come in white plastic buckets. Any bucket (in a commercial application) of another color is a way of indicating that the bucket used to hold something other than food and should not be used for...

    Chalky Taste with Keg Hopping?

Needs about two weeks in the keg, maybe three, and it should be closer to its full potential. No need to transfer, you're doing everything just fine.

HELP!! Airlock blew off and lost a gallon of liquid

My advice your fermentation vessel should have at lease 1-1.5 gallons of headspace for krausen and to avoid these problems. All 5gal batches should really be in a 6.5 gal pail or carboy. Your 5gal could be used for appflwein or as a secondary. If you insist on using it, rig up a blow off tube...

    Post your infection

I posted links to my infection (here: http://s960.photobucket.com/albums/ae88/WakeMikey/Random/) and I wanted to update. I poured a mug from the bottom of the bucket. It smelled and tasted musty and made my living room smell the same. It's a toss-out for sure. The bucket is a bottling bucket...
