    I have the 1.02 curse...

Primary for a month, no secondary. This is the general consensus now, with all due respect to other methods.

    Seriously? It is just Bud.

More sad, dumb responses News Flash - you dont have the right to kill other people; even if you think they 'deserve it'.

Wort storing - acidental sour. Repeatable?

So it only sat for 3-4 days and you boiled it AFTER it sat in storage?

First Yeast Starter with Stir Plate!

What size fermenter, what size batch???

    Seriously? It is just Bud.

Sad thread replies. I am disheartened by all the bad jokes and lack of empathy. Murder is not appropriate use of force in retaliation to petty theft. This needless loss of life should never have happened.

Total Noob, 1st brew issue, maybe?

Maltodextrin is commonly used in Imperial Nut Browns. It is to improve the quality of the head and mouthfeel. I really loved the effect it had on my Imperial Nut Brown over some of my other Nut Browns. But I am still learning too. People usually dont make starters with dry yeast. I don't make...

    Hop sludge

For that much hop volume you might wish to consider a small coarse mesh hop-bag. Another trick is to gently shake your strainer as rapidly as possible. You'll be fine.

    Ebay deal - Stainless Pots

Okay now someone needs to brew a batch asap and report back on how the kettle preforms on the burner and how sturdy it is to carry it around by the handles full of hot liquid, etc. THANKS!

Infection, yeast rafts or what ? (Picture)

It looks fine to me, your krausen (foam) collapsed and that is the foam left behind. Usually it makes a ring around the bucket right above the surface.

Doing a Full Boil for the Very First Time

Hmm well jvc and others thanks for offering supporting info. I never had any problems but I would say it's good info to be aware of. http://byo.com/component/resource/article/Issues/231-October%202005/10-10-steps-to-better-extract-brewing

Please look at this picture of my yeast...

LOL well I think most people just boil the jars and wash their hands and then start dunkin the jars by hand, but that's tougher with a carboy obviously. WTG McGruber!

1st Time Using Gelatin - My Results

I know it doesn't end up in the final product but I do not like using an animal by-product at all when it can be EASILY avoided. Thanks for the tip on the Biofine. I have been plenty happy with whirlfloc in brews that do not clear well on their own.

Please look at this picture of my yeast...

Looks good way to jump right in! After another week in the fridge the jars will settle again. If you want you can combine jars again at this time. MrMalty.com will help with how much slurry to use for pitching/starter. With that much slurry I wonder if you could just skip the starter and pitch...

Doing a Full Boil for the Very First Time

I have never heard of steeping the specialty grains in a separate amount of water (although there would be nothing WRONG with it either). Every instructional I have seen has the brewer soaking their specialty grains in the full volume of water. Either putting the grains into cold water and...

1st Time Using Gelatin - My Results

Sorry but not a fan of animal by-products in my brew when it can be avoided. Why not just wait a week and then the keg will clear on its own???

Who is brewing on the MLK holiday?

ROFL @ this poor thread being dragged through the mud I brewed three times last weekend and two times this weekend that just ended! Ahhhhh pipeline, you have been reestablished! Now I only have a Mead left to make (then Graff is next) and I need more fermenters! Brewed Midwest AG kits...
