    is there enough time?

Have you seen the threads about converting a mini fridge into a small kegerator? People have also started using the Miller Fridge Dispensor thingie as a keg. COuple of those and you would have it made. Bottling is just a TON of work, that's all.

You can lead a horse to water...

Those people no longer deserve the privilege of drinking your fine beer. Bring it for yourself and let them drink bud. Pearls Before Swine That might make a good brewery name lol!!!

    is there enough time?

I had great results with a pale ale fermenting 10 days and force carbing 1-2 days. It's a little green but still fantastic. Even today at 9 days you could do it.. but why not just keg the stout? No updates yet - doesnt' seem like OP is gonna have a SB party after all :(

    Big Beer BIAB Help Please

I did an 18lb doppelbock as a BIAB. It worked, but barely. It was a big pain. I could hardly fit any mash water in my 5g kettle. It took three kettles to capture wort rofl. It was sticky and messy but it worked and the beer is awesome. Still aging in a keg but samples rock. I liked AG so I...

how long do you let your ales frement for?

IMHO it depends if you are in a rush for beer or if you are more patient. When I started, I brewed two weekends in a row. One I kegged after only 10 days. The other I let go 3-4 weeks before kegging (because I already had beer and patience was no longer a factor). They were both great beers. I...

    Best hops for bulk purchase

OK I'm working on my order and I would like some critique! I'm a newer brewer (9mo, 25 batches, includes 10AG batches). I am still experimenting with different styles and recipes but lately I am mostly making Irish Reds, Browns, IPAs and porters/stouts. I don't really do much German anything...

    Best hops for bulk purchase

How far out are you guys planning? I figure I brew every 1-2 weeks so that means I will need about 3lbs of hops (averaging 3-6oz of hops per brew that is 8-16 brews) to last maybe 3 months. I guess I will start there and increase as needed in the future. Hope SWMBO is ready for top secret...

ND proposal would let home beer makers sell suds

Yooper I am in MN and a google search brought me this document which says we still need to be ATF certified. Any updates on this I may have missed? Thanks! http://mnbeer.com/2010/03/11/the-lowdown-on-basement-brewing/

Did I screw up capping? Picture inside

If you press down too hard you can leave dents in the middle of the caps like that. I have never dented them that bad, though! As long as the 'teeth' are wrapped securely around the bottle top I wouldnt worry.

Cold Weather Mash Did Not Go Well

148 is fine, no worries. Have you tried heating your strike water just a little hotter to compensate for the cold outdoor temps? Instead of mashing-in at 170, try 175. Or as Earwig said, mash inside. :p But I'm guessing your MLT was cold and your grain was cold. Hotter strike water. Good luck...
