    425 bbls per year ?

Also buying extract syrup is much more expensive than buying grains. If he is looking for economy, that would be the way to go. Why would he even put BMC on tap??? It's his bar, he can make a kick ass pale ale instead and triple your sales. If you REALLY want a BMC beer (lighter than what most...

    Easy Ginger Ale

Would it be possible to formulate two recipes, one made to be nearly non-alcoholic like normal, and one purposely more alcoholic? I know I would prefer it that way. ;)

    Easy Ginger Ale

I feel like a total idiot for asking this, but with sugar and yeast isn't this drink alcoholic??

Whats the best bang for my buck?

IMO don't worry about having a different primary and secondary fermentation vessel. Just get two primaries. Most (80% or more) beers do not need a secondary. You, however, do want a couple of primaries. Just get two Ale Pails and you'll be happy. Only wash them with a soft sponge and oxyclean...

    BA$tards ripped me off

return the kettle and get something ~10g. 7.5 is not enough for full boil AG, you will often have 8-8.5g of wort.

My new Brewery and Alehouse-Shed (Brewing Porn )

Say you wanted to be licensed to sell a few kegs or growlers. If you applied for a nano license only do you think your brewing 'shed' could get approved? For sake of discussion only about what type of structures would get approved. LOVE your thread and your shed!!!

Nanobrewery Interviews Part II - Why their doing what their doing...

Sorry but I thought of another question: It would appear that even small will need a collection of kegs to sell your beer in. I would guess quarter barrels are the most common but some bars will accept a corney keg??? Also I am hearing you need to have every one of your kegs labeled with a...

Nanobrewery Interviews Part II - Why their doing what their doing...

Thanks for all the awesome interviews, it's very inspiring to hear from these brewers! I would be interested to know more about their licensing processes, their brew rigs - not super detailed, but basics like what type of burner, liquid transfer mechanism, and type of vessel for boil and...

How to get rid of sulfur smell

The yeast cake reprocessing the beer and refining the product is what will remove the sulfer smell. Remove the yeast cake and you slow down the activity, although there are certainly yeast in suspension in the beer as well. Just leave it alone.

    Best hops for bulk purchase

Electric beer - Two thumbs up and thanks for your post. I am adding Saaz to the list and am feeling great about this well-rounded (for me) selection! Hmmm now I am wondering if I should hold out for when they start offering Rhizomes too. I was gonna get from Midwest but none of the Rhi's they...
