    1970s "Dark" Beer?

Yes it says women were not allowed inside until 1970, after being legally required to do so.

    1970s "Dark" Beer?

I was in NYC not too long ago and I happened to walk by a bar called McSorley’s. Looked cool so I went in. Same setup, light or dark only. No other options. It definitely wasn’t just coloring though, and both were good! The sign says established in 1854.

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

Run CO2 through the liquid post prior to starting your transfer. This should solve your clogging problems. Sediment will end up in the floating dip tube during fermentation. I don’t use a wrench to tighten my post. Actually my post are less than 100% hand tight even and leaking has not been an...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

My ambient is 75* so that wouldn’t work for me right now. I forgot about Voss. Should have considered that one too. Too late for me anyways, but was hoping someone maybe had experience with a west coast. I just hope it doesn’t clash. 7 lb Pilsner 8 oz white wheat 4 oz victory .5 oz...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

So I am on a travel assignment for my wife’s work, and out of state. (I work from home). I brought minimal brewing equipment and don’t have temperature control. That’s the reason for Kveik this time around. Yes with west coast I’m thinking cleaner would be best. I’ve heard that Lutra lessens...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Has anyone tried Hornindal in a west coast style IPA? Scanned through but didn’t see anything.

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

When you say washer, do you mean the oring? I don’t recall there being a washer. My oring is on the outside and mine is sealed up nice. Hand tight only.

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

I put pressure on mine yesterday and checked with Star San. No leaks.

Turning your Fermonster into a complete closed transfer system for cheap!

Can you link to the gaskets you are looking at? My bulkheads are less than 100% hand tight. If I twisted as hard as I could, like you said, the rubber seal would pop out from under the fitting. I have not actually sprayed the connections to test for leaks yet, but I will at the end when I go to...

Got mine set up and just ordered a second one! Do you guys take the bulkheads off each time to clean or leave in place?

How, and how often to clean mill?

Tap it on the bucket a few times, then back on the shelf it goes.

small batches and conical fermenters. worth it or just excessive?

@SanPancho what are your thoughts with the small batches in the conical so far? Have you put a batch through it yet?

    Bucket v.s. conical v.s. unitank

I would say the larger the batch size (assuming you want it all in one fermenter), the more it makes sense. I used to have a 7 gallon SS brewtech unitank and I sold it. Wasn’t worth the hassle of cleaning it for a 5 gallon batch. I now ferment 10 gallon batches in a 15 gallon Torpedo keg. I...

    2 gallon fermenter

Morebeer ships free if you buy over $59. A fermenter and some grains/hops/yeast for a few batches should get ya close.
